[438] Who Stole the Last Cookie? 25 Participants How do courts and the law determine what
happened and when? What if taking the last cookie was a crime? How do you prove your innocence and your family member’s guilt? [439] Bringing Michigan to the World through Advertising 24 Participants Explore the role of advertising in shaping our understanding of the world around us. Participants will learn about the latest trends in advertising and have the opportunity to create their own advertisements focused on a place in Michigan. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in the power of advertising and the impact it has on our perceptions of the world, especially Michigan. [440] Building Your Dream Community 40 Participants Take part in an activity and review how the availability of resources impacts communities. We’ll build our own communities with the materials or “resources” available and communities will be compared and discussed.
Design and Construction of Wireless Sensor 15 Participants Learn the basic concepts of sensor and wireless measurement of sensor property. Sweets, Treats and Games 200 Participants Spend time playing board games, cards and building puzzles while enjoying the provided snacks and drinks. Movie Night 100 Participants Relax and unwind with a family movie this evening. Snacks are provided.
Fleece No Sew Blanket Making 20 Participants
Work together to make a no sew fleece blanket to use long after you have left Grandparents University. Blankets will be ready to be tied. One blanket per child. Service Project — Placemats for Veterans 50 Participants Use your artistic skills with this service project and draw/color placemats that will be sent to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Humor & Laughter: Always the Best Medicine at Any Age! 30 Participants Genuine and spontaneous humor and laughter are the best ways to promote self-care every day! But, what are the positive health effects of humor and laughter on the mind-body-spirit? This fun, interactive class will brighten your day, cause you to smile and be a foundation for bringing joy and laughter to your life every day!

Yoga for EveryBODY is a mix of yoga, breathing exercise and pairs yoga. A great way to connect, loosen up and have fun. This class will be interactive and awesome! [442] Korean Language and Culture Jam 20 Participants Join us on a language and culture experience through the country of South Korea. Learn important Korean phrases, fun games, crafts and information about a popular Korean dish you can easily make at home! [443] Biomass (plant material) to Biofuel 15 Participants Next-Generation! Learn how to make biofuel out of soybeans. Biofuel is produced from plants as well as microbes. In this class we will discuss converting biomass to bioenergy. We will learn how to make biofuel from soybeans and also have a debate on “food vs. fuel.”
GPU Drum Circle 100 Participants
Drum circles are one of the most powerful ways for groups of people to communicate. Join in the fun with instruments of all shapes and sizes, including ones made in the workshops. If you have a drum or other instrument, please bring it with you! All ages are welcome!
