[206] Black Education: 10 Things You Thought You Knew...(But Probably Didn’t) 100 Participants Explore the contributions Black people have made to public education in the U.S. This session will focus on the historical and contemporary implications of desegregation noting the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision. [207] Build an Exhibit, Build a Science Center 30 Participants Build STEM exhibits using easily available materials. Help build an entire science center where you can see an exhibit, touch it, play with it, experiment with it, break it (accidentally), repair it, rebuild it, improvise it, make a copy and take it home. [208] Building Your Dream Community 40 Participants Take part in an activity and review how the availability of resources impacts communities. We’ll build our own communities with the materials or “resources” available and communities will be compared and discussed. [209] Bumps and Bruises — Household First Aid 30 Participants Learn about first-aid for common household injuries from senior paramedic instructors. [210] Cake Pops, Chocolate and Sprinkles Oh My! 25 Participants Learn how to make cake pops — from mixing, to dipping, to decorating. [211] Cash Conversations with MSU Federal Credit Union 50 Participants Learn about money and play games that focus on saving, spending and sharing money. You’ll have the opportunity to work together with your family member(s) to practice ways to manage money, discuss future plans and have fun! [212] Disney Trivia 20 Participants In this fun Jeopardy style trivia game, play games like “name that tune” with family teams!

[213] Eggstravaganza 16 Participants

Learn how eggs are graded and how to determine interior and exterior quality. Enjoy demonstrations and hands-on testing to see how eggs alter the foods we make with them. Learn about egg packaging, including what all the labels and stamps mean. [214] Geocaching in the MSU Horticulture Gardens 25 Participants Learn the basics of the popular worldwide hobby of geocaching while touring the beautiful MSU Horticulture Gardens. You will learn what geocaching is all about and how to operate a basic GPS unit. Basic loaner Garmin GPS units will be provided. Please note this class requires a lot of walking and is designed for those who have never geocached before. We will be outside rain or shine (unless there is lightning). Bring rain gear, water and bug spray and wear comfortable walking shoes!

Interested in learning the violin? You can learn how to play the violin alongside your grandparent! Violins are provided. [217] Harry Potter and the Secrets of British English 50 Participants Harry Potter is a young wizard whose adventures have been enjoyed by people across the globe. But Harry was brought to life by a British author and his world is full of prefects, sticky toffee puddings and getting sorted into school houses. Learn about some of Harry’s culture and vocabulary, and the reasons why American English and British English have become different over time. [218] Having Fun with the Business Model Canvas 20 Participants Learn how to use the Business Model Canvas, tool used to bring to a business to life. Explore how businesses operate with a fun and relatable business case.
