Beaming! Bridge workshop
CONSTRUCTION Year 3 have worked incredibly hard to design and construct their own wooden bridge models. Having learnt about different bridges and how to make a strong structure, the children used this knowledge to sketch different bridge designs before settling on a final design. After a safety talk and practice on how to use the tools (junior hack saw and vice clamp), the children spent the morning measuring and cutting wood for the beams. With adults arriving in the afternoon, bridge construction commenced! The results were truly wonderful! A huge thank you to all adults who attended and a well done to all the children and their fantastic bridge structures.

SHORT LIST I thought you would like to hear that two ex-Abbey pupils have made it to the short-list for Head boy and Head girl at Q3. Richard Okyne-Ampah and Florence Slade have made it to the final 6 boys and 6 girls and will find out soon whether they have been successful, but are already confirmed as prefects due to them being shortlisted.
We are very proud, whatever the outcome, and also proud to fly the Abbey flag!
