Cancel the skates! Controlling the park.

REMOTE I n February I had an idea about closing part of the the skate park off so that people with remote control cars can play with them safely and use the ramps too. I chose to write to Julia Morris, who works for Sandwell Council at Lightwoods Park. She wrote back to me and invited me to a meeting. During the meeting, we set the date and times, we agreed the rules for the event and decided that parents would have to sign their child into a session and stay with them. We also discussed which parts of the skate park we would use and ideas for the day, such as time trials and skills circuits. We need volunteers for this event to go well so My family and I are going to be volunteers. I designed a poster and Joshua Holloway Dyker’s mom made it for me. Once it’s been approved by Sandwell Council, we are going to put the posters up so people can decide if they want to come. We are also going to ask friends to take the posters to clubs such as Brownies and Cubs. The event is called ‘Cars Ride The Ramps’. It will take place on Saturday 27th April (weather permitting). People have to bring their own remote control cars. There are 20 spaces between 9-9:45 and 20 spaces between 10-10:45. You have to email someone at Lightwoods House to book a space. Thanks to Kiernan in 4RP for the idea, effort and story.
