Raise the shields! Crafty protection

WORKSHOP On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week, Year 4 had a parent workshop. This workshop was creative and incredible, because it was as though the Romans came to 2019 and left all their different but symmetrical shields behind. Some children's parents came to re-build, help and personalise the plain cardboard shields. The teachers gave us a variety of equipment including: paint in bright colours, shiny paper, paper bowls and tin foil. Finally we used templates for wings and lightning bolts. Everyone really enjoyed the workshop and we can't wait to use the shields for our Roman show. Thanks to Seth & Maisie in 4A for the story. FORE On Tuesday 7th May, 10 children from across years 3 & 4 travelled to Oldbury Academy to compete in the school games Tri-golf competition. The children completed 8 activity stations which included both putting and chipping challenges. The children worked really hard as a team, to accumulate as many points as possible, and had lots of fun in the process. A total of 17 Sandwell schools took part in the competition and our golfers finished in a very respectable 6th place after scoring an impressive total of 472 points. Well done! Thanks to Miss Hinton for the story
