EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST CLARENCE CREEK ARENA CANTEEN The Community Services is now accepting expression of community interest or others for the management of the Clarence Creek arena canteen. The contract terms are available at the Community Services of the city of Clarence-Rockland at 1560 Laurier Street in Rockland. If you are interested to manage the canteen, please communicate with Pierre Boucher, Recreation and Municipal Facilities Manager at 613 446-6022, ext. 2236. The Clarence-Rockland Environmental Society in cooperation with the City of Clarence Rockland proposes a “treasure hunting” weekend at the end of September in conjunction with the heavy items curbside collection. All residents are invited to clean up their basement, garage and attic to give away their old but in good condition items. So don’t put your unwanted bounty pieces in the garbage. Set them out at the curb on Give Away Weekend. “One person’s trash could be another one’s treasure”. Please note that uncollected items will be picked up during the Fall curbside collection and that municipal regulations must be followed regarding appliances containing CFC (freon) such as refrigerator, water cooler, dehumidifier, freezer, air conditioner, etc. and also the amounts of garbage that will be picked up. Dates to remember: North of Baseline road: Give Away Weekend on Saturday September 22nd and on Sunday September 23rd 2012 Fall Curbside collection from September 24th to 28th 2012 on your regular pick up day. South of Baseline road: Give Away Weekend on Saturday September 29th and on Sunday September 30th 2012 Fall Curbside collection from October 1st to October 5th 2012 on your regular pick up day. GIVE AWAY WEEKEND REDUCE YOUR WASTE FOOTPRINT WHILE PARTICIPATING IN A SOCIAL CHANGE. Guidelines: • Place your items on the side of the road on the indicated dates • Clearly identify them as FREE • Respect other people’s property • Do not discard previously picked up treasures on another person’s lawn • At the end of the day, bring any uncollected items back to your home, set them back out on the fall curbside collection day. • Please note that this is not a garbage collection

La Société Environnementale de Clarence-Rockland en collaboration avec la Cité Clarence-Rockland propose une fin de semaine de « chasse au trésor » qui aura lieu à la fin septembre avec le nettoyage d’automne. Cet évènement a pour but de permettre aux résidents de placer en bordure de route des items dont ils ne veulent plus, mais qui sont encore bons. « Les choses sans valeur pour l’un peuvent être des trésors pour d’autres ». Tout ce qui n’aura pas trouvé preneur sera ramassé lors de la collecte d’automne, mais il faudra tenir compte des normes municipales concernant les appareils ménagers, contenant du CFC (Freon) tel que réfrigérateur, machine à eau, déshumidificateur, congélateur, climatiseur, etc. ainsi que les limites de rebus qui peuvent être ramassés. Date à retenir : Au nord du chemin Baseline : Fin de semaine de don-débarras le samedi 22 septembre et le dimanche 23 septembre 2012 Collecte d’automne effectuée du 24 au 28 septembre lors de votre journée de collecte régulière. Au sud du chemin Baseline : Fin de semaine de don-débarras le samedi 29 septembre et dimanche 30 septembre 2012 Collecte d’automne effectuée du 1er octobre au 5 octobre 2012 lors de votre journée de collecte régulière. Directives générales : • Déposer vos items en bordure du chemin aux dates mentionnées • Indiquer clairement « gratuit » sur les items. • Respecter la propriété d’autrui • N’abandonnez pas sur un parterre un trésor trouvé ailleurs • En fin de journée, rapporter à la maison vos objets qui n’auront pas trouvé preneur. Remettez-les en bordure du chemin lors de la collecte des gros rebuts • Noter bien que la fin de semaine de don-débarras n’est pas une collecte d’ordure. Exemples de trésor : • Livres, disques compacts, DVD • Meubles, antiquités, électroménagers • Rebuts de construction, y compris cloisons sèches et quincaillerie comme clous, vis, écrous, etc.

ACCESSIBILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
La Cité de Clarence-Rockland est à la recherche d’individus intéressés à siéger au sein de son comité consultatif de l’accessibilité. La mission du Comité est de fournir des conseils à la Cité dans la révision et l’application du plan d’accessibilité, en ayant pour but de satisfaire aux besoins des citoyens de la Cité de Clarence-Rockland, tout en mettant l’accent sur les citoyens ayant une limitation fonctionnelle. Idéalement, les individus intéressés à siéger sur ce comité seront déjà au courant et auront une compréhension générale de la Loi de 2001 sur les personnes handicapées de l’Ontario ainsi que la Loi de 2005 sur l’accessibilité pour les personnes handicapées de l’Ontario. Composition : Le comité doit être composé d’un maximum de huit (8) résidents incluant un minimum de cinq (5) individus ayant une limitation fonctionnelle, dans le but d’obtenir une représentation diversifiée des différents handicaps.
The City of Clarence-Rockland is on the lookout for individuals interested in sitting on its accessibility advisory committee. The mission of this committee is to provide advice to the City in the revision and application of the accessibility plan, with the goal of satisfying the needs of the citizens of the City of Clarence-Rockland, all while emphasizing on the citizens who have functional limitations. Ideally, the individuals interested to sit on this committee will already be aware and will have a general comprehension of the 2001 Law regarding handicapped people of Ontario as well as the 2005 Law regarding the accessibility for handicapped people of Ontario. Composition: The committee must be composed of a maximum of eight (8) residents including a minimum of five (5) individuals having a functional limitation, the goal being to obtain a diverse representation of different handicaps.
