Super sewing success! Parent workshop
STITCHING CAPES Year 3 children and their parents joined forces for an action-packed parent workshop titled 'Super Stitching Capes'. The young heroes had previously designed their own logos and, with the help of their enthusiastic parents, they skilfully stitched these onto fabric capes. Using both the chain and running stitch techniques, the children displayed their sewing prowess, with the chain stitch proving to be the ultimate challenge. Delighted parents exclaimed, "It was a fantastic experience working alongside our children!" Equally thrilled, the little superheroes themselves exclaimed, "It was absolutely fabulous sewing our very own superhero logos!" Stitch by stitch, they're saving the day! CREATIVE CARTOONIST Last week, the talented Mr Marshall (Sensible Pencil) paid a visit to Year 3 to teach them the art of cartoon drawing. The children were thrilled to learn that in the world of art, there are no mistakes, only opportunities to do their best. Mr Marshall guided the budding artists on how to create captivating cartoon characters by focusing on the shapes that form their faces. The highlight for the children was being able to draw their very own characters and unleash their wild imaginations. To add the finishing touch, they even got to bring their superheroes to life with vibrant colours.
