THE

Readathon! Reading for charity.

BIRMINGHAM HOSPICE Hi, my name is Thomas, and over the summer holidays, I raised £160 for the Birmingham Hospice Charity, as part of their Big Birmingham Readathon. My favourite book was Hot Dog 2, because it was funny and the cat called Kev kept eating the bread baton they used for practice before sports day! Altogether, reading superstars like me raised £3,641.50 - enough for 182 teddy bears with the recording of a loved one’s voice for children to treasure forever! The Birmingham hospice sent me a medal and are coming to do an assembly about the work Birmingham hospice do soon.

[Ed - Thanks to Thomas and what an inspiration! Great effort.]

SMARTEN PARKING Inconsiderate and unsafe parking around our school has been a big problem, putting the safety of our children and others at risk. Please follow the tips on how you can make a difference. Our local West Midland PCSOs are working hard to advise and remind our parents about safer parking at Abbey. Thank you to PCSO Jayne Evans and PCSO Amarjit Randhawa from the Smethwick Neighbourhood Team for joining us on the road last week!
