THE
Monster! Year 2 Themed day
SCOTLAND Year 2 pupils kicked off their brand-new classes in style, swapping sums and spellings for a whirlwind tour of Scotland — and what a day it was! The classrooms were buzzing as the children rolled up their sleeves to create a giant Loch Ness monster, complete with tissue paper scales and a cheeky grin. The towering ‘Nessie’ quickly became the star of the room, with pupils proudly pointing out which part they had built. Out in the playground, the fun continued with a mini-version of the Highland Games. From skipping challenges to long jumps, the pupils gave it their all, cheering and laughing as they competed. “The games were brilliant!” one excited youngster said, still catching their breath. Art time brought yet another treat, as the pupils tried their hand at colourful, bold McCoo-style oil pastel pieces, filling pages with shaggy highland cows in rainbow shades. The results were proudly displayed and admired by classmates and teachers alike. When asked about the day, children were quick to agree on their favourites: the Highland Games and the Loch Ness monster art. With smiles all around, Scotland certainly left its mark on Year 2.
