group was in the Third Form!). A tour of old haunts followed, led by three contemporary prefects and concluding in the Laboratory. Many remembered assembling for the opening of the new extension to the now demolished Science Block. Lunch was served in the spacious George Farha Auditorium adjacent to the splendidly restored Shackleton’s boat, the James Caird, which the group remembered as somewhat neglected behind a grille on the site of the old Bath’s Hall!

President Ivor Warburton (57-65) and a moment of silence remembering those who have died there followed the Dulwich Grace spoken by College Senior Fellow (and 1957 1A Form master) Terry Walsh. It was a day of renewed friendships and reminiscences of Dulwich in late 50s and early 60s, with gratitude from all, including the many beneficiaries of the Dulwich Experiment, for the education they received. With the Barry buildings mainly under wraps in 2017 there is an excuse for another gathering in ten years’ time.
