Upper Canada district and China partner up
UCPR at IPM The United Counties of Prescott-Russell will cover the whole tab for the Prescott and Russell display and information tent at the International Plowing Match 2015 in Finch in September. Counties council approved a recommendation from its economic develop- ment and tourism department to cover the entire $18,000 for the information tent setup. When the UCPR hosted the event in 2011, the number of people attending the IPM totaled in the thousands. – Gregg Chamberlain "is is the second !ve-year partnership agreement between the UCDSB and Zheng- zhou School Number 9. A UCDSB news re- lease stated that Chinese students are eager to take part in the foreign studies program that the agreement o$ers because “the Cana- dian education system is valued internatio- nally” and Canadians have a reputation as “a friendly and hospitable people”. "e UCDSB has a sizeable foreign student body studying at schools throughout the #e Upper Canada school district has a close connection with China. O#cials for the Upper Canada Dis- trict School Board (UCDSB) and Zheng- zhou School Number 9 signed a !ve-year partnership agreement that will link the two educational institutions."e agreement will open up a foreign studies program for students from the Chinese school to improve their English while taking Grades 11 and 12 curriculum courses at UCDSB schools towards graduation with an Ontario secon- dary school diploma. Zhengzhou School is located in east-cen- tral China. About two dozen of its senior students are expected to attend UCDSB schools each year under the terms of the partnership agreement and as part of the UCDSB International Education Program. "eir Ontario high school diplomas and English-language studies will allow them to pursue further post-secondary programs at Canadian universities and colleges.

Citoyen engagé, Yannick fait du bénévolat auprès d’organismes de charité œuvrant en développement social et services de santé. Il souhaite contribuer à la gestion de la qualité des soins dans la région où sa famille habite. t Daniel Gatien est directeur de développement économique à la municipalité de Russell et compte près de 35 années d’expérience en administration municipale. Gestionnaire chevronné, il a aussi siégé aux conseils d’administration de la Fondation des services aux enfants et adultes de Prescott-Russell et de la Société de développement communautaire de Prescott-Russell. Daniel souhaite faire connaître les services hors pair o!erts par l’HGH à tous les résidents de Prescott-Russell. Il habite à Rockland. t Michel Parent est le directeur général du Centre Desjardins Entreprises de l’Est de l’Ontario et compte plus de 25 années d’expérience dans le milieu bancaire et "nancier. Il siège aussi au conseil d’administration du Centre d’accès aux soins communautaires de Champlain et a présidé la Chambre de commerce de Prescott-Russell. Michel souhaite contribuer au développement de l’HGH a"n que tous les résidents de Prescott-Russell béné"cient d’un centre hospitalier régional à service complet. Il habite à Casselman. .
