Developing action plans to address implementation/ performance gaps.
Providing advice to ensure that structures and activities within HAS are effective and support the University’s and HAS strategies.
Supporting the effective design, running and implementation of reviews within HAS, working in partnership with other Professional Services, including HR on consultation with unions and staff on proposed changes. 7. Internal Partnerships Adopting a corporate and collegial approach to internal partnerships within HAS and between HAS and other Professional Services. 8. External Partnerships Building and maintaining relationships with external bodies relevant to HAS e.g. statutory organisations, commercial partners, other institutions. 9. Infrastructure Through the management of the HAS Health and Safety Manager, and working in collaboration with the Assistant Director of HR – Workplace Wellbeing, ensure effective compliance with Health & Safety legislation. In collaboration with the HAS IT Manager and working with IT Services, ensure that HAS has appropriate IT facilities and support, in line with the University’s IT strategy. Be a New Core super-user for HAS, coordinating and supporting all other super-users across HAS so as to ensure the HR/Finance/Payroll systems is used efficiently and effectively by all areas and employee of HAS. 10. Risk Management Understanding risks/ issues within HAS, developing and maintaining an effective system of risk management for HAS, including a risk register and actions to reduce and mitigate risk. 11. Project Management Managing and contributing to projects at both HAS and University level – from project design to delivery, working in collaboration as required. Working with University Professional Services departments (e.g. Estates, IT, External Relations) in order to prioritise and coordinate the completion of HAS projects.
12. Consultative Processes and Communications Playing an active role in ensuring effective communications within HAS and between HAS and other Professional Services.
Playing a significant role in action planning in HAS in response to the University staff survey.
13. Governance Developing and managing effective arrangements for committees and governance within HAS, ensuring these articulate effectively with the wider University system.
Ensuring that HAS adheres to the requirements of University Legislation and acting at all times in the best interests of the University.
Chair the HAS Health and Safety Board and the HAS IT Group.
Be the nominated Data Protection Officer and champion for HAS.
14. Support to the Director of HAS Providing strategic and operational advice, support and guidance to the Director of HAS on a wide range of issues.
Attending meetings on a regular basis with other University Senior Officers, representing and deputising for the Director of HAS as required.
Deputise for specific issues, as and where appropriate, for the Director of HAS.
Other duties in HAS as determined from time-to-time by the Director.
15. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required Educated to degree level (or equivalent). Possession of an MBA qualification or equivalent would be preferred.
