CHAIRMAN MESSAGE

"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons."

“Have a spook-tacular, boo-tiful, wooo-nderful, and fang-tastic Halloween!”

October air changes which you can feel and smell and there is autumn at your doorstep, relating to the Greek mythology Libra is related to the Greek goddess of Justice, Themis, whose daughter, Astraea, went up to heaven and became the constellation of Virgo, both goddesses carried the scales of justice, which became the symbol for Libra. The goddess of Serenity carried the scales of justice; granting perseverance and calm to the level-headed people during the trying times. The world has been suffering through the worst health and education drawbacks of pre and post-pandemic as health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. A resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. A healthy lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life with meaning and purpose. Moreover in the wide spectrum one may not ignore a certain proportion of war-affected children lose all adult protection unaccompanied children, as they are known in refugee situations. Children may lose their community and its culture during a war, sometimes having it reconstituted in refugee or diaspora situations.

Malala Yousafzai said,

“If you want to end the war then Instead of sending guns, send books. Instead of sending tanks, send pens. Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers.”

CEO MESSAGE

"Give me a treat or I will play a trick on you." “Happy Halloween!”

October, traditionally wrapped in orange and black the main colors of Halloween, house decorations during this mystical holiday season, with purple often used as an accent color whereas tricks refer to demons walking among the living, as well as the nature of being in a disguise yourself. Treats refer to handing out food and candy.

"Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them."

The pumpkin is often linked to rebirth and fertility, and they also symbolize harvests and crops. They fit the season in which Halloween falls every year. For those who go 'trick or treating', a luminous pumpkin on the stairs is the symbol that those who live there want a visit. Autumn begins to chill the air until the trees look sad and bare, time for the fireside, winter tales underneath the blankets and the lamplight glow as the summer stolen by. Education is the tool of reawakening aftermath of any traumatic situation of war and terrorism, poverty, depreviation of food and health deprivation, children are particularly vulnerable to the deadly combination of malnutrition and infectious illness. There is also interruption of population immunization programs which may be responsible for increases in child mortality. Education aims is to educate individuals within society, to prepare and qualify them for work the economy as well as to integrate people into the society and teach them those values and morals of society role of education is means of socializing individuals and to keep the society smooth and stable. Let’s be the pioneers who can push the boundaries of human understanding. We must be doctors who can cure the virus of violence. We must be soldiers of peace who can do more than just preaching the choir. And we must be artists who will make the world our masterpiece.

Rung Dorangi is an amalgamation of fun and emotions. The light moments will suddenly take you to an emotional scene with a lot turning points. It is not typical “saas bahu” story. The viewers got attracted to a fresh environment with attractive characters. We have filmed Rung Dorangi on a farmhouse, surrounding areas of Malir and even the posh areas of DHA, Karachi. The viewers can clearly see glimpses of my earlier works – Sard Aag, Jayen Kahan Armaan, Tapal Cinema, Mera Ghar Aik Whirpool and my songs like Milan, Chandni, My Love, Aey Sanam and recent musical work – Sansani and Saiyaan. I mostly work on concepts that involve emotions. Rung Dorangi will take you back to a time when things were simple yet equally modern and satisfying for your life and soul. Hamza (my character) and Omer (Shees Sajjad Gul) are living in a farmhouse far away from the city. Hamza is a single parent whose wife passed away in a major accident. The plot takes an interesting twist when Ayesha (Namra Shahid) flees her wedding because her mother Sakina (Humera Bano) forces her to marry the son of her landlord’s brother (Faizan Shaikh). Ayesha runs away on the day of her marriage. Her best friend Sadia (Palwasha Yahya) takes her to the farmhouse where Hamza and Omer live. A series of incidents happen when Ayesha starts living in Yasir, you recently released film ‘Rung Dorangi’ is presented by one of major brands Nestle, what elements do you think has made the film so attractive? QUESTION 01

PTV has signed a contract of series of films ‘Multinational Films’ with myself. I am planning to shoot the films in various countries like UK, USA, UAE and Pakistan with characters from all cultural backgrounds. Each film will be of 90 minutes of duration approx. Every film will have a different storyline and characters. This project will be portraying a positive image of Pakistan. The first film is a story of a successful lawyer living in London with his wife. Things change when someone from Pakistan arrives. Tell us about your upcoming mega venture ‘Multinational Films’ on our national network – PTV. QUESTION 02 Since my last film Azaad was a more serious drama, I wanted to select a subject that had light moments. Rung Dorangi has many spices. It is fun-filled with many emotional scenes. I try to balance my stories with both rom-com and drama. The actress Namra Shahid in Rung Dorangi has a totally different character as compared to that of Why did you decide to go ahead with a rom-com film venture as opposed to a more serious, dramatic genre? QUESTION 03 the farhouse with Hamza, Omer and their helper Makkhan (Irfan Motiwala). The film then takes surprising turn when the characters of Safdar (Hasham Khan) and Jibran (Tabrez Ali) enter.

Our team is wishing Yasir Akhtar a great success as always in his upcoming endeavor ‘Multinational Films’.

For me, producing something in the UK is as easy as working in Pakistan. I did so many projects, concerts and events in England that I feel the same vibe there as I do here in my home country. Azaad was a challenging project. We had to cover many locations of London. It had new talent with many experienced actors. After Rung Dorangi, my next film will be Mujh Ko Pata Hai based in London. How would you contrast your experience filming Azaad in the UK with Rung Dorangi in Pakistan? QUESTION 04 travelling the world and living in the UK for so long, I have realized that people love to watch rom-coms. I would love to do a sequel of my drama serials Jayen Kahan Armaan in Pakistan. Another sequel can be Sard Aag in the UK, which I did for HUM Television in 2006. It was filmed in Manchester with some new actors. Pakistan; Music Channel Charts, Tapal Cinema, French Toast, Mera Ghar Aik Whirpool, Jayen Kahan Armaan, Sard Aag and Azaad among others. Would you like to start a sequel to any of your earlier works? As a director and a producer, you have launched many groundbreaking and trendsetting productions in QUESTION 05 Momal Sheikh’s in Azaad. I like a variety of characters. They are both poles apart. Besides, there is so much seriousness in the world right now. We all need to relax and pull our lives back to the basics. Also, after

Travelling to so many countries has made me quite balanced. Big or small, I believe every role is important in a story. To bring positivity through my productions and songs. Also, storylines that the audience can relate to. I understand a script, the situations and improvise through my personal experiences. I observe, people’s mannerisms and choose artists according to these requirements. For me, it is not essential to cast superstars in a production. One should cast an actor who is suitable for the character. There must be realism in the story and acting. The locations in any of the productions are characters. I have worked with veterans of the PTV family including Shehzad Khalil, Ghazanfer Ali, Khawaja Najam Ul Hasan, Sahira Kazmi, Shahid Iqbal Pasha, Sultana Siddiqui, Kazim Pasha, Haroon Rind and more. I observed their working styles and learnt a lot from them. As a filmmaker, what kind vision you have? QUESTION 06 I auditioned new talent from acting schools in Manchester, Birmingham, and London. Fantastic actors like Nauman Ijaz and the late Abid Ali were called from Pakistan. It had 24 episodes in total. Sard Aag is the first British-Pakistani drama serial of it’s kind. Those who watched were highly impressed with its quality of production. The drama serial was way ahead of its time.

QUESTION 07

I have progressed. My sense of composition are better now. I definitely know what kind of music I need for a song. After releasing so many songs here in Pakistan and in the UK, I am comfortable working with other genres of music that can easily fuse in with artists from other backgrounds. Sanam. Teray Naal to your recent ones, Sansani, Take it Easy and Saiyaan from the film Azaad? How would you compare your singing of previous songs like Kabhi to Hoga Mera Milan, Chandni, My Love, Aey I have always take risks and give chance to newcomers. There are many artists who entered media industry frommy productions and made themselves great stars. The newcomers are full of passion, honesty and energy and there is an innocence on their faces which the camera loves. Will you be giving chance to some newcomers in ‘Multinational Films’? QUESTION 08 I must say that Dr.Amber Jamal and BGN’s team is contributing massively to our community. It’s a tough job to consistently publish creative content and BGN is the leader. Dr. Amber Jamal has created the BGN which is a power platform for the USA, what special message you have for our BGN readers? QUESTION 09

Healthy Children, Better Learning, Verdure the World

The contribution of education on long term health has been described in terms of both potentiating and protective; it can trigger healthier futures, mitigate social stressors, and provide access to employment opportunities and life chances that could protect individuals from later life disadvantage. Inflation is taking up the poverty line, and poverty is not just economic but defined by way of health and education. A healthy child is a better learner, that poverty usually constitutes a serious impediment to learning, and that what children do during the 80 percent of waking hours they are not in school can mean the difference between thriving and failing. Education is not just about learning facts, but more so about learning how to think. It is learning to make good choices. It is learning to act with purpose and becoming educated is a lifelong process. It can be hard and frustrating at times, but it can also be incredibly exciting and enriching. Most importantly, learning and education can help children to change the world by becoming a better person to thrive the potential by eliminating the apprehensions, learning from the mistakes as mistake is a crash course in learning. Seeking knowledge assists in the development of an aptitude for lifelong learning and problem solving feeling empowered and valued. These all have direct consequences on their long term health outcomes: whether through increasing someone’s likelihood of being able to afford a good quality life, or through better managing or being less exposed to life’s challenges. Education and health contribute to child's growth because when a child is educated then he knows the importance of health which enables to live healthily , leads to better jobs, including better health insurance, which leads to better access to quality health care in safer neighborhoods as well as healthier diets. Children who are exposed to situations of terror and horror during war experiences that may leave enduring impacts in post-traumatic stress disorder. Severe losses and disruptions in their lives lead to high rates of depression and anxiety and extreme psychological suffering. Children are dependent on the care, empathy, and attention of adults who love them. Their attachments are frequently disrupted in times of war, due to the loss of parents, extreme preoccupation of parents in protecting and finding subsistence for the family and emotional unavailability of depressed or distracted parents. Moreover the impacts in childhood may adversely affect the life trajectory of children far more than adults. Consider children who lose the opportunity for education during war, children who are forced to move into refugee or displaced person camps, where they wait for years in miserable circumstances for normal life to resume, if it ever does, a child disabled in war; loss of a limb, sight, or cognitive capacity, lose the opportunity of schooling and of a social life.

Thousands of children suffer landmine injuries each year. A landmine explosion is more likely to kill or seriously injure a child than an adult. The conditions for maintenance of child’s health deteriorate in war, nutrition, water safety, sanitation, housing, access to health services. There may be loss of immunity to disease vectors with population movement, ethnic cleansing, and refugee life leave lasting physical impacts in sexually-transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, psychological impacts and changes in life trajectory. The experience of indifference from the surrounding world, worse malevolence may affect children’s moral structure and lie, steal, and sell sex to survive. They may have their moral structure forcibly dismantled and replaced in training to kill as part of a military force, lose their community and its culture, sometimes having it reconstituted in diaspora situations. Education supports the growth of civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing learning about the rights and acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. We need more connective tissue between education and health of our children which may not be fragmented, disarrayed, and difficult to access. In other words, we don’t have a system that guarantees children’s health and well-being. Our approach is hit or miss, unless from a privileged family and then count on getting wraparound health care, mental health services, and regular dental care. Is it any wonder, then, that children from these families routinely learn at higher levels, on average, than children who lack adequate access to health care? An education reform effort that seeks to confront systemic barriers to health and wellness, leveling the playing field for students. Education is the supreme form of communication. In the hierarchy of needs, health stands as the supreme catalyst to the central core of childhood curriculum, as we can’t educate the children who are not healthy and we can’t keep them healthy if they are not educated. The advancement in pedagogy must be a phenomenal template of education and health of children around the globe. Remember to open a school door, closes a prison!

THE HALLOWEEN DAY

In many parts of the world, the Christian religious observances of All Hallows' Eve, including attending church services and lighting candles on the graves of the dead, remain popular, although elsewhere it is a more commercial and secular celebration. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. Halloween is a religious holiday belonging to the Roman Catholic Church. ... The holiday is “All Hallows Day” (or “All Saints Day) and falls on Nov. All Hallows' Eve Halloween, contraction of All Hallows' Eve, a holiday observed on October 31, the evening before All Saints' (or All Hallows') Day. The celebration marks the day before the Western Christian feast of All Saints and initiates the season of all hallow tide, which lasts three days and concludes with All Souls' Day Halloween Sayings: Have a fang-tactics night. Happy Haunting! Have a beautiful Halloween. Don't be a sacredly cat. A Halloween practice in which children wearing costumes go from door to door in a neighborhood saying "trick or treat" when a door is opened to ask for treats with the implied threat of playing tricks on those who refuse …The origins of Halloween can be traced back

to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Until 2,000 years ago, the Celts lived across the lands we now know as Britain, Ireland and northern France. ... Celtic priests, known as Druids, would have led the Samhain celebrations. The connection between bats and Halloween may seem natural. ... It is believed that witches worshipped horned figures with wings—possibly bats? Furthermore, it is said that witches used bat blood in their “flying” concoctions. Bats have a creepy reputation, but they're actually kind of cute! Celebrates Halloween: In countries such as Ireland, Canada and the United States, traditions include costume parties, trick-or-treating, pranks and games. Versions of the holiday are celebrated elsewhere, too. In Mexico and other Latin American countries, Día de los Muertos—the Day of the Dead—honors deceased loved ones and ancestors Bible say about Halloween: Here are the best Bible verses to read as Halloween approaches. "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons." "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." A blue moon — by definition a rarity — will rise this month, notably on Halloween. Take note, werewolves. The lunar event means simply that a second full moon will rise in the same month. ... It also happens to be a blood moon, meaning a full moon that happens in October, in the midst of spooky season.

TANU VATSA AGGARWAL ARTICLE BY

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community” The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Mental health is framed as part of a larger set of behaviors that result in a healthy, happy, and meaningful existence (World Health Organization, 2004). Together with physiological health, mental health is considered part of the broader concept of health. However, the determinants of physical health and psychological health are different. Specifically, to be physically healthy typically implies the absence of illness. The World Health Organization states that mental health is not limited to the absence of mental illnesses or diseases. For example, just because an MRI scan shows that there are no abscesses or tumors present, it doesn’t imply that someone is mentally healthy. These two concepts – mental wellbeing and mental illness – are not dependent on each other. This implies that patients can present with mental illness and also have high levels of mental wellbeing. At one-point, mental health was considered a collection of symptoms of positive feelings and positive functioning. A healthy mind is one that finds in whatever fear, anger, sadness, despair, irritation, confusion, or frustration we feel, a potential for pleasure that has yet to unfold—an energy and guidance impelling us to move in relation to ourselves and others in ways that align our well-being with the challenge at hand. A healthy mind helps us move in life-enabling, experience-metabolizing ways. Sometimes, however, our minds get sick: they can’t help us move. Nearly half of all adults, at some point in our lives, will endure times of acute mental, physical, and emotional suffering, and find ourselves unable to work, play, eat, sleep, or open deeply to others—times when we are arrested by anxiety or depression, anger or fear, compulsions or addictions, and unable to digest our experiences. Mental health is much more than a diagnosis. It's your overall psychological well-being—the way you feel about yourself and others as well as your ability to manage your feelings and deal with everyday difficulties. And while taking care of your mental health can mean seeking professional support and treatment, it also means taking steps to improve your emotional health on your own. Making these changes will pay off in all aspects of your life. It can boost your mood, build resilience, and add to your overall enjoyment of life. Below are 10 practical ways to look after your mental health. Making simple changes to how you live doesn’t need to cost a fortune or take up loads of time. 1. Value yourself: Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism. Make time for your hobbies and favorite projects, or broaden your horizons. Do a daily crossword puzzle, plant a garden, take dance lessons, learn to play an instrument or become fluent in another language. 2. Take care of your body: Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health. Be sure to: Eat nutritious meals Avoid smoking and vaping Drink plenty of water Exercise, which helps decrease depression and anxiety and improve moods Get enough sleep. Researchers believe that lack of sleep contributes to a depression in college students.

3. Surround yourself with good people: People with strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who lack a support network. Make plans with supportive family members and friends, or seek out activities where you can meet new people, such as a club, class or support group. 4. Give yourself: Volunteer your time and energy to help someone else. You'll feel good about doing something tangible to help someone in need — and it's a great way to meet new people. 5. Learn how to deal with stress: Like it or not, stress is a part of life. Practice good coping skills: Try Tai Chi, exercise, take a nature walk, play with your pet or try journal writing as a stress reducer. Also, remember to smile and see the humor in life. Research shows that laughter can boost your immune system, ease pain, relax your body and reduce stress. 6. Quiet your mind: Try meditating, Mindfulness and/or prayer. Relaxation exercises and prayer can improve your state of mind and outlook on life. In fact, research shows that meditation may help you feel calm and enhance the effects of therapy. 7. Set realistic goals: Decide what you want to achieve academically, professionally and personally, and write down the steps you need to realize your goals. Aim high, but be realistic and don't over-schedule. You'll enjoy a tremendous sense of accomplishment and self-worth as you progress toward your goal. 8. Break up the monotony: Although our routines make us more efficient and enhance our feelings of security and safety, a little change of pace can perk up a tedious schedule. Alter your jogging route, plan a road-trip, take a walk in a different park, hang some new Keep alcohol use to a minimum and avoid other drugs. Sometimes people use alcohol and other drugs to "self-medicate" but in reality, alcohol and other drugs only aggravate problems. 10. Get help when you need it: Seeking help is a sign of strength — not a weakness. And it is important to remember that treatment is effective. People who get appropriate care can recover from mental illness and addiction and lead full, rewarding lives. pictures or try a new restaurant. 9. Avoid alcohol and other drugs: Mental health is a dynamic state of internal equilibrium which enables individuals to use their abilities in harmony with universal values of society. Basic cognitive and social skills; ability to recognize, express and modulate one's own emotions,

People who experience positive emotions also have greater longevity, as do those who express self-determination in life. Also, those who enjoy life maintain better physical conditions as they age. Happiness is highly linked with self-awareness, self-acceptance, and compassion towards oneself and towards others. People who practice transparency and authenticity in their relationships have more successful, sustained romantic connections with their partners. Moreover, how you relate to your partner affect our long-term overall health. Brains are hardwired for empathy and human connection. One example: When a person experiences social pain in another, a region of the brain associated with physical pain is aroused. Also, when a spouse experience chronic pain, the other spouse may develop health problems. You can learn to alter your brain functioning, your consciousness, attitudes, and behavior. Research using functional MRIs show that meditative practice and strengthens areas of the brain associated with self-regulation of emotions, calm, cognitive focus, and empathy towards others. Practicing mindfulness – paying attention to your current thoughts and feelings, and observing them in a non-judgmental manner – improves self-knowledge. In the business realm, being able to see, understand and deal effectively with others’ perspectives is key to successful leaderships A direct relationship exists between diet and brain functioning. Specifically, an anti-inflammatory diet has significant impact upon one’s mental state, both cognitively and emotionally. Chronic inflammation is the cause of such illnesses as heart disease, many cancers, and Alzheimer's disease. Certain foods contribute to it, while some substance such as turmeric, cause significant improvements in cerebrovascular dysfunction. Overall, this general theme points to a psychologically healthy life as a state of integration: Of self-regulation of emotions; cognitive focus, moment-to-moment; values, attitudes and behavior that support wellbeing in both yourself and others; and physical-dietary practices that are linked with them. The Benefits of Mental Health The benefits of intentionally practicing to improve mental health are a response to the chronic stress reported at epidemic levels around the world. Chronic stress has been proven to deteriorate the hippocampus. This stress also leads to decreased concentration and memory, confusion, loss of sense of humor, anger, irritability, and fear. Obviously, stress is not good for the brain, and improved mental health practices can reduce the risk. Other benefits of mental health include, but aren’t limited to: Reduction in anxiety. as well as empathize with others; flexibility and ability to cope with adverse life events and function in social roles; and harmonious relationship between body and mind represent important components of mental health which contribute, to varying degrees, to the state of internal equilibrium. Creating a vision of what psychological health looks like in today’s world -- and what it requires for your bio-psycho-social being (these dimensions are all interconnected) – is a challenge. But it’s possible, if we look at some unlikely sources. These include a variety of research findings and other sources of information. Most aren’t directly related to mental heath, but many coalesce into some indicators about what a psychologically healthy life looks like, and how you can “grow” it. Some examples:

Improved moods. Clearer thinking. A greater sense of calm or inner peace. Increased self-esteem. Reduced risk of depression. Improvements in relationships.

Benefits of mental health through physical fitness include, but aren’t limited to: Sharper memory. Clarity in thinking. Higher self-esteem. Better sleep. Increased energy. Stronger resilience. Increased BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor), which improves neurotransmission. Counseling has, unfortunately, had a stigma attached. The medical model was developed to fix what was “broken.” People receiving counseling are not broken. Human beings are malleable and can rewire themselves. A professional counselor can help with this plasticity by allowing the release of painful or unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Potential Benefits of Counseling: Improvement in communication and interpersonal skills. Greater self-acceptance. Increased self-esteem. Improved self-expression and management of emotions. Relief from depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. Clarity. Coaching is another area when Coaching is another area where practitioners can increase the benefits of mental health. While coaching is not therapy, it can be very therapeutic. Having a trained coach can create areas of growth that clear the way for massive personal improvement. Potential Benefits of Coaching:

Learning acceptance and self-appreciation Improved connection with self and others Simplifying life Reduced stress Harmony and peace Increased self-awareness Reduction in isolation Improvements in relationships Improved communication Overcoming procrastination Gaining work and or life satisfaction Increased self-reliance Improved decision making Mindset shifts Increased self-worth Improved time management skills

Start today. You have the power to take positive steps right now to improve your resilience and emotional health. Don’t wait until you're in a crisis to make your mental health a priority. Besides, it is easier to form new habits when you are feeling strong. You can then implement those habits when you need them most. Pick something from this article that resonates with you and try it. Then, try something else. Slowly putting in place routines, habits, and regular patterns will help you feel better through gradual change.

The United States is one of the leading countries in the fashion design industry, along with France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan. Apart from professional business attire, American fashion is eclectic and predominantly informal. While Americans' diverse cultural roots are reflected in their clothing, particularly those of recent immigrants, cowboy hats, boots, jeans, and leather motorcycle jackets are emblematic of specifically American styles. New York City and Los Angeles are the centers of America's fashion industry. They are considered leading fashion capitals. New York City is generally considered to be one of the "big four" global fashion capitals, along with Paris, Milan and London.1840s fashion in European and European-influenced clothing is characterized by a narrow, natural shoulder line following the exaggerated puffed sleeves of the later 1820s and 1830s. The narrower shoulder was accompanied by a lower waistline for both men and women. In 1974, 26-year-old Diane von Furstenberg designed the iconic wrap dress (source). Little did she know, her contribution to the fashion industry would live on for years to come? Wrap dresses have a front closure and V-neck that is formed by wrapping either side of the garment around your body and knotting the attached ties buttons on either side. It flatters many different body types, which is likely why it’s stood the test of time. This season, the popular brand Ever lane introduced a wrap dress that got the attention of several media outlets in the fashion industry. For example, an article by The Cut shows what the dress looks like on six different women with varying body types.

There is a shift towards a healthy lifestyle and self-care as a component of both wellness and wellbeing. Essential oils serve two purposes in this changing landscape: they replace harmful synthetic scents and have the ability to improve our wellbeing through our moods.”- notes Shilpa Tiku, Chief Research Officer and Partner at Verify Markets. The use of essential oils in spas has become very popular. Spas and beauty salons are increasingly incorporating essential oils in their practices for facials, massages, body treatments, manicures/pedicures, diffusion, and wash or spray towels. Suggested applications of essential oils in medical centers include diffusing essential oils at the reception area to provide a welcoming aroma, clean the equipment without harsh chemicals, anoint patients, soak a cotton ball in oil for patients to use for relaxation, avoid bad odors, or use during massages. Studies have shown that essential oils may offer several benefits some of which include: Stress reduction, mood enhancement, better sleep, reduced nausea, increased focus, relaxation, and reduced inflammation.

EAT CLEAN, GREEN & BLUE!!!!

What food items does the diet consists of? • Whole Grains, such as corn, wheat and rice • Greens • Tubers like sweet potatoes • And any kind of beans which is the main cornerstone of this diet People following this diet can also eat meat, on average about five times a month and fish once or twice a week. Going meatless or reducing meat intake can also help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease as per the American Heart Association. Tips for starting a Blue Zones Diet: Initially any new diet, especially a one that is mainly plant based & very low intake of meat, might be little tough to implement for most people but with these tips, it gets much easier. Like they say, “ Most of us are on a ‘sea-food’ diet – so if you are putting that junk food away and you put in a fruit bowl, it might get easier. One of the best things to do is build your social network in such a way, that you have a couple of other people who eat this way. Take time out to learn some recipes that you like as per your own taste with your kind of spices, as taste will also be a factor in what you decide to eat. People eat this way basically for three reasons. Firstly, to improve one’s health, secondly, its good for the environment & thirdly, it reduces animal cruelty. But people will always want to eat what’s delicious for them so most important is taste. But at the end of the day, everyone is so individualized and has different levels of activity, different mental conditions & different things going on with their body where they might need more or less of something. This diet is just a good way to start implementing good & clean eating but slowly & steadily as per the body needs. Eat clean, live healthy & always remember healthy living rocks!

Presenting the new & much coveted BLUE ZONE Diet!!!

What is this Blue Zone diet???

The Blue Zone diet is based on the eating patterns of people living in Blue Zones – the parts of the world where people live the longest. After much research it was discovered that the five parts of the world that exhibited this outstanding longevity were Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Icaria, Greece and Loma Linda, California Through a thorough analysis of these communities, it was found out that people in these so called “Blue Zones” were eating a mostly whole food and plant-based diet.

#HealthyAtHome: Health & Nutrition Eating a healthy diet with full nutrition is very important during or post the COVID-19 pandemic. What we eat and drink can very much affect our body’s ability to prevent, fight and recover from infections. While no foods or dietary supplements can prevent or cure COVID-19 or any other RSV infections, healthy diets are important for supporting our immune systems which helps us in developing a strong immunity. Good nutrition can also reduce the likelihood of developing other health problems, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes and some types of cancer. With more & more people working remotely these days, healthy eating at home is much encourages more due to the sedentary lifestyles. Here are some tips & tricks to maintain a healthy diet with nutrition: 1. Eat a variety of food, including fruits & vegetables 2. Cut back on salt 3. Eat moderate amounts of fats and oils 4. Limit Sugar Intake 5. Drink enough water to stay hydrated 6. Avoid harmful alcohol use Always remember, eating healthy & by avoiding oily & junk foods can definitely increase our immunity. And that is what is the key to stay fit & fight any infection during this era of pandemic & post pandemic. Fit & Fab – No pain, no gain. The Covid-19 pandemic forced many people to stay away from the gym & delay participation in sports. But with things improving & all the fitness centers opening up with full force, it is a good time to start slowly & gradually build your body’s exercise tolerance either from home, outdoors or at the gym. Stretch your Strength: Strength training can be a good way to start post the pandemic by building up the muscles in our body. This can be done by using resistance bands that ca be ideal for anyone, from beginners to elite athletes & this can be done at home or at the gym at your own comfort. Weight Lifting: You can start out with lighter weights & as you increase the weight, you can decrease the number of repetitions. The progress you can in this sphere can be marked by how comfortably you are able to increase the weight or number of repetitions. Running: Runners can start with a walk to run program. As you feel more comfortable walking for a longer time or distance, take minutes away from the walk and add to the run.

Cardio Exercise – As per research, if you exercise for 30 minutes a day on any cardio machine, then a healthy heart pushes out more blood with each beat, enabling it to function more efficiently. This decreases stress on the heart potentially reducing blood pressure so any cardio exercise is good for your body. Warm up and cool down: Proper stretching, plyometrics, such as jumping exercises, walking or light jogging before and after your activity can allow your body to properly warm up and cool down. Always listen to your body: It’s very important to understand your body will respond differently each day & with any new exercise. There are peaks and valleys in getting back to a certain level of activity & that sometimes can take little time. If an activity or movement doesn’t feel comfortable, consult your physician immediately. Just do what feels good for you & listen to your body always. Slow progress is still progress!
