After giving notice After your notice appointment, some of your personal information, including where your ceremony is going to take place, will go on public display for 28 days on a screen in the register office local to you. After you give your notice, and you need to change the date of your ceremony, as long as the new date falls within the 12 months’ validity period of your notice, you will not be required to give fresh notices. However, if the new date falls outside of the 12 months you will both need to give notice again, and pay the fees for giving notice. The registrars will undertake a pre- ceremony interview where you will be asked to confirm the information on your Marriage or Civil Partnership Schedule. If any of the information has changed between the giving of notice and the date of your ceremony, this can be amended or added/removed, where appropriate to do so. They will also check some key points of your ceremony to ensure everything runs smoothly.
