EXPERIENCE
Experience as a Senior Project Engineer in a similar role within a construction related organisation. Experience as a Senior Design Mechanical Engineer for project mechanical installation works. Previous experience of managing, coordinating and monitoring performance of external mechanical and electrical consultants Undertaking M&E feasibility studies and producing budgets and costs plans. Experience of leading on mechanical installations including new build and refurbishment schemes. Producing M&E specifications and design information to procure works for new and modified installations. Experience in managing budgets and budgetary information. Experience in using AutoCAD or similar recognised CAD software package to produce design information. Experience of undertaking on site audits and check of “as built” information and liaising with external providers over content. Ability to apply robust commercial, finance and contractual acumen Ability to exercise effective Leadership at the same time as working collaboratively creating an effective team and a positive culture and behaviour managing through influence and developing freedom for the team to operate. Previous practical experience in a similar post within the Higher Education Environment Experience as a Design Electrical Engineer for project services installation work Experience designing M&E installations in Listed Buildings and Laboratory’s. Experience of managing an in-house team of multi discipline consultants and engineers Experience of the differing forms of electrical services installations. Experience of M&E designs installations for research facilities that are Home Office Licensed. Experience of differing construction and services installation techniques, components and stages of construction. Experience of using M&E design software Educated to degree level or equivalent in mechanical related subject. Relevant and recognised qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering Member of CIBSE or other recognised services Qualification Recognised H&S qualification Recognised AutoCAD qualification (eg City & Guilds, NVQ) Hold, or working towards, a current full membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers Professional (CIBSE) and be, or working towards, a full Chartered Member of the Engineering Council.
