Love of the Game Auctions Fall, 2018 Catalog

12 Babe Ruth Signed ONL (Frick) Baseball (PSA/ DNA) - Displays as Single Signed! At first glance, this is an exceptionally clean Spalding Official National League (Frick) baseball, signed boldly on the sweet spot by the Great Bambino. The signature has faded somewhat, but it is still clear and legible, definitely a prize worthy of being the centerpiece of a collection. Close inspection, however, reveals a second signature - that of Mel Ott, applied on the north panel. The Ott signature, unfortunately, has been deemed not authentic by PSA/DNA. Why someone would attempt to forge an Ott signature on a clean, authentic Ruth ball is beyond our capability to understand, however, such is the case with this ball. Otherwise, the ball is strong, an outstanding representation of what is the most desirable signed ball in the hobby. The plus, of course, is that the presence of the Ott renders the Ruth signature more affordable, as signed Ruth balls are quickly moving into the stratosphere. In this case, the Ruth signature is clear and legible, faded but quite worthy of display, our hobby’s most desirable signature, applied cleanly to an official baseball. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. MINIMUM BID: $1,000.00

13 1955 Topps #123 Sandy Koufax (HOF RC) - SGC NM- MT 8 Bright and clean, nearly perfect example of Sandy Koufax’ first card, graded NM/MT 8 by SGC. Simply tremendous visual appeal, well- centered from left to right with virtually no surface or edge wear, and four sharp corners. Equally strong and perfectly-centered reverse. The Koufax rookie is one of the hottest postwar cards in the hobby, with high-grade specimens highly desirable and rising in price with each auction. Easily one of the finest examples we have handled. MINIMUM BID: $2,500.00
