LEAVERS
Year 6 Leavers’ memories
It was very exciting and completely absorbing to be dealing with real life situations of trying to run a successful fair-ground. I know that this will really help us in our future lives, in dealing with money or in business ventures. I think it has been a great year and I can’t wait for the years ahead at Dulwich. Daniel Pinkney My favourite thing about my time in the Junior School has been my friends and the teachers because they are always there for me and everyone else. They are both supportive and care for you when you get hurt or feel sad. They get you through the tough times and make you feel good about yourself, and I thank them for that. Eliott Edwards The Year 6 play was probably my highlight of the year and was simply amazing right from the very start. The first auditions were to see if we had enough energy and could use our imagination on stage. I was very lucky to be invited to the main character auditions and in the end I was picked to be a principal and that was Baby B. Over the weeks I started to become Baby Bmoving and even talking like him, I was literally becoming him. The last week was very tough with rehearsals all day; I was exhausted when I got home. But it was well worth it and the play was amazing… the lighting, the sounds, the songs, everything! It will live long in my memory. Freddie Greenwood As a DC student I look forward to my trips more than any other student would! In Years 4 and 5 we had great trips to the Outdoor Centre in Wales but this year it was somewhere different and somewhere even more exciting. We were going to Osmington Bay PGL. One of my favourite moments of PGL was actually getting there; this might sound a bit strange but it is because we get to have
The Junior School was the best four years of my life. The teachers are really kind, helpful yet amusing, and the lessons are great. Who can’t not like the Junior School? Whether it be doing a vast number of sports, learning something new in DT or acting in the theatre, every day has something new to offer. My time in the Junior School has been memorable. Alfonso Rutter My time in the Junior School has been brilliant. My stand out moment though was when I performed to a sold out Royal Albert Hall with Lang Lang. Many people who I knewwere there which was quite calming; not getting that nervous really helps me to relax and play my best. The staff in the Junior School have really supported me with my learning and helped further develop my passion for playing the piano. Alasdair Howell My favourite part of Year 6 was when we all went to PGL Osmington Bay in Dorset. It was just such a brilliant week, packed full of fun activities, whilst enjoying lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We did zip wiring, rock climbing, hiking, rock pooling, archery, PGL TV, dragon boating and raft building. Thank you to all the staff at PGL for making it such a great week. Arun Kalsi Overall this year I have done many fun and great things including school sports matches and House competitions. However my favourite thing was being a prefect and having that responsibility as a role model to show others the right way, not only to the Year 3s but the whole Junior School, and even some of our friends! I also loved going to PGL and doing all the activities there. What has really stood out for me recently, is doing real-life problem solving in Maths.
