school. We were in his Will, but he wasn't giving any more than he had already been giving. So, I never got to meet the gentleman. I would have been glad to have met him just to thank him for his generosity through the years, but he couldn't see it that way. Along about 1954 he died. Dr. Talbot officiated at the funeral. The attorney was there, his business manager, his housekeeper, his gardener, Gene Poole, and his pet dog was also there, and that constituted all who were present at the funeral service. When his Will was opened for probate, it was discovered that Biola received over $500,000 from his estate, which was the entire estate. Altogether these two estates totaled approximately $1,000,000 and that was a big boost in helping out in the building of the buildings and the various other necessities in connection with the campus. Another highlight that occurred while I was President, was the accreditation of Biola and membership in the Western College
