This course is designed to equip elementary teachers with training on the five core competencies of CASEL framework: Self- Awareness, Social Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making. Educators will gain a clear understanding of which social and emotional skills to teach and will be provided with relevant, practical activities to effectively integrate these skills into their classrooms.

This course provides Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten teachers with an introduction to the five core competencies of the CASEL framework: Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision- Making. Educators will gain insight into essential social and emotional skills to teach, including Friendship Skills, Emotional Literacy, Self-Regulation, and Problem Solving. Additionally, the course will explore effective strategies for teaching these skills through culturally responsive practices, incorporating engaging video examples and hands-on activities to support meaningful implementation in the classroom.
