In this workshop educators will discover how to support the mental health and well-being of students. Topics will cover social/ emotional challenges that affect executive function, access to instruction, engagement in learning and social interactions. Mindfulness practices and other interventions to address these challenges will be discussed. Participants will develop a plan for creating a classroom culture of well-being for adults as well as students.

Intended Audience

Special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, site administrators, district administrators, school psychologists, and school counselors.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Caregiver Training SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS

Participants will be trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development. This 4-day training will offer educators with a better understanding of trauma-invested practices and will be better equipped to meet the needs of all children in their care. TBRI® is an attachment-based, evidence-based, and trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Connecting Principles for attachment needs, Empowering Principles to address physical needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.

Intended Audience

Educators, special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, and other service providers.
