Office Assistant/ Connect Trainer/ Proctor

What I did: I review and validated insurance documents and worked with Sentry’s attorney billing system. What I liked: I liked the company’s culture, my coworkers and management. Future Dream Job: My dream job is to be a CFO.

What I did: Office assistants are relied heavily upon to answer phone calls; help answer questions students, professors or parents might have in regards to the students accommodations and testing accommodations, living arrangements and anything we are able to help with beyond the classroom. Office assistants are also expected to know the basics of our organizations ‘connect program’ and ‘accommodation request program’ in order to train and walk through with students who seek our help. What I liked: What I enjoyed most about this job at first was that I knew two people working there. It made the transition from student-athlete to working student-athlete easier than I had hoped for. It wasn’t until several months later that I realized the importance of the job as well as how much we help the students here on campus and several other campuses. College is a stressful time for a lot of students and it doesn’t need to be any more difficult for those who struggle academically due to disabilities. It’s not every day that we would go into work and make a difference in a student’s life and a lot of times it seemed whatever you did to help didn’t make a big difference, but those days when you are working with a student and listening to them express. Their gratitude was a great feeling. Future Dream Job: My dream job is simple. I have ideas of what I want to do. Some much more realistic than others, some outright dreams. However, I do know that I want to do something I enjoy doing it day after day. Life changes often, and can be unpredictable at times. But as long as there’s work to be done, money to be made, and family to come home to, I would do anything.
