Tasmanian Hospitality Review - June/July 2026

Great Customer Experience Program

Following the roadshow, Gena was invited to attend the Youth, Family and Community Connections (YFCC) Spotlight on Hospitality Jobs event and careers expo in Burnie. It was fantastic to see hospitality venues, training providers and industry representatives all coming together to engage with students and showcase the exciting opportunities available within the industry. Later in the day, adult job seekers also had the chance to connect with employers and training organisations to explore hospitality career pathways.

These sessions are designed to help hospitality businesses and their teams strengthen customer service skills, build staff confidence and create memorable visitor experiences that keep guests returning. The recent West Coast Roadshow also provided Gena with the opportunity to spread the word about the GCE Program and the broad range of support available to hospitality operators. With strong interest shown from businesses throughout the region, plans are already underway for another trip to the West Coast in the near future, where Gena will complete several GCE Business Health Checks with local venues and a venue awareness session with the team at Risby Cove in preparation for the Hospitality Tasmania Awards for Excellence.

Next on the calendar is the Great Western Tiers Tourism Association meeting, where Gena will continue conversations around how the GCE Program can support businesses and staff in delivering exceptional customer experiences across the region.
