accustomed. This was something much greater than the average storm. They cried out, “ Lord save us. We perish!" Christ, the Master of the uni verse, arose and rebuked the winds. This showed again His deity that He was Cod. His life, as well as those of His followers were spared. The reason being that He might help those of us down through the ages who, like those of old, cry out, "Lord, save us, or we perish." How thankful we can be that Cod's purpose could not, and will not, be set to one side. We can trust Him fully for all of our needs. Satan Again Attacks Christ There have been constant at tempts of Satan to bring defeat to God's program of redemption for mankind. Despite this we can be thankful that every area of this di vine program has been carried out to its completion just at the pre cise moment which our heavenly Father has purposed. The devil failed in trying to do away with the Lord before He reached Calvary at the precisely appointed time. In Luke 22:39-46 we see our Lord in the Carden of Cethsemane. The last earthly hours of Christ were very bitter. By His submission to the perfect will of God He received such enduring strength and match less beauty that He alone should receive the praise, honor and glory. The garden was on the way to the home of Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Martha. It was a quiet place, just off the main path of traffic, where one could find rest amid the shade of the olive trees. Here was where He was to con verse and commune with His heav enly Father.
