T h e A f r i c a n people in Rho desia (both parents and chil dren) love stories. When they sit around their fires in the evening, they tell many interest ing tales. They especially like to tell the ones about animals. Missionaries like the African stories, too. They often tell stories when they are teaching or preach ing. This helps the people to un derstand and remember some of the things God has told us in the Bible. The African people know all about crocodiles in the rivers and hungry flies that seem to be every where. That’s why this is one o f the favorite stories I tell them. Would you like to hear it, too? The sun dries his rough skin and warms him up. Soon he is fast asleep. In Africa there are many, many flies. A few of these flies are clev er, but most of them are very foolish. The flies come buzzing along the beach. They see the crocodile asleep with his mouth open, and they think he is dead. One foolish fly says to the rest, “ Look, fellows, we’re in luck to day. Here is a dead crocodile for our dinner, and his mouth is wide open. Come on, let’s have a feast!” So the foolish flies swarm into the crocodile’s mouth and begin to eat. They have a big time. But while the foolish flies are eating in the crocodile’s mouth, a few wise flies are buzzing around the crocodile and looking him over. They soon realize that the crocodile isn’t really dead but only THE KING'S BUSINESS
