Life doesn’t have to be a pain in the neck

Having frequent headaches and neck pain can literally be a pain in the neck, make you unhappy and less productive in life. Why do you have that pain in your neck? Often, it is caused by a muscle or joint problem. Poor posture in the upper neck area contributes to headaches, migraines and neck pain. When you look in the mirror do you notice that you have a forward head posture or does your head look a little shifted off to the side, not in alignment with your neck? This is a sign of underlying joint or muscle problems. Where Radiating Headaches Come From Different problems with the neck cause pain to be felt in different areas. For example, did you know that if the pain radiates to your forehead or behind the eyes, this can be from stiff joints at the top of your neck? In addition, poor joint movement in the neck causes stresses and strains on surroundingmuscles causing frequent aches and pains. Finding the Root of the Problem To narrow the source of the problem, it is important to find out if your pain worsens towards the end of the day or is first thing in the morning. Pain at the end of the day and a complaint of a “heavy head” feeling is an indicator of spinal muscle weakness and instability. The neck and shoulder muscles just can’t tolerate the weight of the head (about the weight of a bowling ball) with daily activities, tiring quickly and causing pain towards the end of the day. Rainier Family Physical Therapy increases your neck mobility, improves your posture, regains your muscle strength and teaches you how to maintain your neck health. If you are having headaches or neck pain, call us today to relieve your pain.

Important Information

Physical therapy may cost you nothing through the end of the year! As we move into the final months of the year, many people have met most or all of their deductible. This means that you may only owe a co-pay or co-insurance (if you have one) for your physical therapy visits until the end of the year. Cash in on this period of high coverage by getting yourself into physical therapy now and use your visits before the end of the year. Call your insurance company to check on your coverage, then call us to get scheduled!

A Letter From The Clinic

We here at RFPT work hard to ensure we are giving you the most accurate information about your insurance coverage, but we also stress to our patients that you should also understand the benefits for which you are paying. Before starting treatment here or at another medical practice, we suggest you give your insurance company a call and ask if you’re covered for such treatment, if the facility is contracted with them, and what your benefit limits are. These include co- pays, deductibles, and visit limits. We understand insurance companies can be difficult, especially when they place you on hold for a seemingly endless amount of time. But we care about you and don’t want there to be any surprises during your time with us or anywhere else. So make sure to give your insurance company a call beforehand and we will continue to strive to provide to you the most up to date information. Nick Office Manager

“Before RFPT, I would not have been able to or would have found a way not to participate in a day trip at the water park with my daughter and her friends. After my time at RFPT, I am able to spend the entire day walking around and enjoying the day with very little discomfort!” -M.R.
