WEEKLY EVENTS On Tuesdays, weekly events will be conducted by the Women’s 18-Hole Golf Association. These events are played in various formats. An explanation of each format follows. A minimum of eight (8) players is required for each event. Players are encouraged to stay for lunch in the Café after play. To participate, players must sign up in advance using the “Golf Event Registration” section of the WCC ForeTees app. An email listing the participants for each event will be sent out on Saturday, based on registrations received by Saturday prior to the Tuesday event. If you signed up and your name is not listed, call or email the Golf Shop immediately to be included. Most events will have a shotgun start. Starting times will be noted on the Golf Event Registration pages and on the calendar pages of this booklet. You should sign up for all events as an individual except when it’s a Pick Your Own Partner (PYOP) event. If you do not have a partner, sign up and the Golf Shop will pair you. The Golf Shop will make the pairings for all events. Players will use their Course Handicaps, calculated in accordance with the World Handicap System, and are required to know the rules of play for each event. Course Handicaps for all weekly events will be limited to 36 strokes. The Golf Shop will provide official scorecards for each group. The use of Golf Genius during play to record scores is also encouraged. Upon completion of play, scorecards must be turned in to the Golf Shop. The event scorecard along with the appropriate signatures must be completed. Attesting a scorecard certifies that the USGA Rules have been followed by each contestant on the Card. Results of the weekly events will be posted on the WCC ForeTees app and in an email sent out by the Golf Shop after the event. 5

Participants should not enter a tournament unless they can play every round in accordance with the tournament schedule.

To be eligible, participants must have, at the time of registration, a Handicap Index.

All rounds must be completed by the specified dates. A minimum number of eight (8) players is required for each tournament. In flighted tournaments, players will be seeded in advance by Course Handicaps. The maximum number of strokes allowed is 36. Players with a Handicap Index that would result in a greater number of strokes may enter, but a Course Handicap of only 36 strokes will be used on the card (subject to a percentage reduction for a specific tournament in accordance with USGA rules). Defending champions will be seeded in the No. 1 position.

In non-flighted tournaments, seeding will be random.

USGA Rules apply to all tournaments. All rulings will be made by the Women’s 18-Hole Golf Association Rules Committee. Deadlines will be extended only if the course is deemed unplayable or closed.

All rounds played in Major Tournaments should be posted as Competition scores.

To participate, players must register in advance using the “Golf Event Registration” section of the WCC ForeTees app.

Regarding the Memorial Better-Ball of Partners Tournament and the President’s Cup Tournament, the match must be played by the deadline for each round. If the two opposing sides cannot agree on a time to play, the side with greater relative availability will win by forfeit. 8

If neither side has better availability, the winner will be determined by a draw. The names of the player/players will be put in a hat and the Chair of the Rules Committee will draw the winning name. For all tournaments, a 72-HOUR POLICY FOR CANCELLATION IS IN EFFECT. Notify the Golf Shop in the case of cancellation. Anyone who withdraws after the closing deadline will be billed for her lunch, when applicable. If weather conditions force the termination of an event, the meal will be served, and the charges will be billed. All prizes will be distributed at the Committee’s discretion. Memorial Better Ball of Partners Tournament A match-play tournament open to the defending champions and the next 15 pairs who sign up. (Maximum is 16 teams.) Score the better ball of partners, taking strokes as they fall on the card.

If a full team cannot schedule a match, one partner may play alone.

The 2025 champions were Lori Van Sickle and Judith Ventura. Defending champions are the No. 1 seed, with random seeding for the remaining competitors based on handicaps posted two days prior to the tournament start. Maximum Hole Score for Handicap Purposes The maximum hole score for each player will be limited to a Net Double Bogey calculated as follows: Double Bogey + the handicap strokes a player receives based on her handicap for the course being played. Scoring a Hole Not Finished If a hole is started but not completed, a score that the player most likely would have made is recorded. That score may not exceed the maximum score of Net Double Bogey (see definition above) and it is preceded by an “x.” Adjusting a Hole Not Played For an 18-hole score to be acceptable for handicap purposes, a minimum of 10 holes must be played. When a player plays 10-17 holes, a Score Differential is created based on the holes played, and the player’s expected Score Differential for the number of remaining holes not played is added to that value to produce an 18-hole Score Differential. When a player plays between 10-17 holes, they are required to post their scores hole-by-hole so the appropriate Score Differential can be calculated from the holes that were played to combine with the expected score for the holes not played. For a 9-hole score to be acceptable for handicap purposes, all 9 holes must be played. If a player has not played at least 9 holes, the score is not acceptable for handicap purposes. 3. Under the World Handicap System, scores must be posted on the day a round is played. 4. The active posting season for Delaware and Pennsylvania is April 1 to November 14. In other golf associations (e.g., Florida), it is year-round. Score Posting If you play in a Women’s 18-Hole Event, you must turn in your scorecard, even if you withdraw from the event. If you fail to turn in the card, a score equal to the lowest of the last 20 scores you have posted will be posted for you. 14 Scoring and Handicap (including all tournament events) 1. Scorecards must be dated, signed, attested and turned in to scorer. 2. Player(s) will be disqualified if the above directions are not met.

Wilmington Country Club is a member of the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) and the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia (WGAP). The club charges a handicap fee annually to all members who request a World Handicap System Handicap Index. Our handicaps are administered through GAP, one of the 58 state and regional golf associations that make up the United States Golf Association (USGA). The USGA and The R&A are the governing bodies of golf throughout the world. Your Handicap Index is a portable number that represents your demonstrated ability. When you play different courses, you have a Playing or Course Handicap for each course, depending on the difficulty of the course and the tees you play. To see what your Course Handicap is for a specific course, open the GHIN app and click on “More.” Choose Handicap Calculator and click on the name of a course where you have played and posted a score. You will see a set of numbers: H.I. is your Handicap Index, C.H. is your Course Handicap, and P.H. is your Playing Handicap FOR THAT COURSE. Most Improved Golfer This award is given to the ACTIVE player whose handicap has improved the most from May 1 to September 30. The award is given for A, B, C and D categories. Most Avid Golfer This award is given to the woman who has played in the most events, including the major tournaments, during the season.
