| Storage & Handling Recommendations |

Storage Recommendations • The optimal temperatures to store Fierce® MTZ Herbicide are between 55 degrees and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. • Valent recognizes that not all facilities are capable of maintaining temperatures in this range, but recommends keeping the product from freezing. Handling Recommendations (2.5-Gallon Containers) It is common for suspension concentrate (SC) herbicide formulations to settle when stored over a period of time. Since Fierce MTZ is a SC formulation, Valent always recommends that the product be agitated back into suspension before use. There are two methods that Valent recommends to re-suspend the formulation:

Option No. 1—Shake Container • One option is to manually shake the container back and forth until the product is back in suspension. • If you choose to shake the container and you notice some sediment at the bottom, pour out approximately a third of the contents of the container. Place the cap back on the container securely and vigorously shake the product again to bring the sediment back into to suspension. • There may be a small amount of sediment left in the container after this technique. To remove, add a minimum of 4 inches of water into the container and shake the container for 10 to 15 seconds.

Option No. 2—Cordless Power Drill & Paint Mixer Wand • Utilize an 18- or 20-volt cordless drill (any brand of choice will work) and attach a helix paint and epoxy mixer (see Figure 1). • Insert the helix mixer wand into the container all the way to the bottom. Turn on the cordless drill and run for 30–60 seconds. • If there is sediment at the bottom of the container, move the mixer around the entire bottom surface of the container to bring all the material back into suspension. • There may be a small amount of sediment left in the container after this technique. To remove the sediment, add a minimum of 4 inches of water into the container and shake the container for 10 to 15 seconds.

Handling Recommendations (265-Gallon Caged Poly Totes) • If Fierce MTZ is stored in a tote over a period of time, Valent recommends that a tote mixer be used. • If the tote is full, the mixer should be used to recirculate the contents of the tote for at least 30 minutes. • Once in season, it is possible to observe separation in totes if unused for a period of time. Use the tote mixer

and recirculate the tote for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the volume in the tote. • See Figure 2 for a recommended mixer that provides optimal recirculation of a tote.
