La liste se répartit comme suit : 61,6 % des demandes proviennent de la région de Hawkesbury, 31,6 % d›autres régions des CUPR et 6,8 % d›ailleurs, dans la région environ- nante de Prescott-Russell. – Gregg Chamberlain LIBRARY GALA MOVED TO OCTOBER 5 The Clarence-Rockland Public Library (CRPL) recently announced that it was postponing its yearly gala, stated for May 11, due to the recent flooding in the area. “Being part of a community that cares so deeply is truly amazing,” said Catherina Rouse, CEO of the CRPL. The gala will therefore take place on October 5th instead. Between April 22 and April 28, officers of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 293 calls. On April 23, an officer arrested a 42-year-old man from Rockland for nume- rous domestic violence offences. The said alleged incidents date to between 2016 and 2019. He was charged with spousal assault, two counts of overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of forcible confinement, uttering threats (cause death or bodily harm – spou- sal) and spousal assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 8. On April 25, at about 9:30 p.m, officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 17 in Rockland. They determined that a man had been consuming alcohol and was impaired. Franclim M. S. Lima, 38 years old, of Ottawa, was charged with driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, ope- rating a vehicle while impaired, with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, failing to have an insurance card and novice driver - B.A.C. above zero. He received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 22. On April 27, at about 1:20 a.m., an officer

D’autre part, un homme de 42 ans de Rockland a reçu plusieurs chefs d’accusation pour violence conjugale, le 23 avril dernier. —archives
was conducting general patrol on Laurier Street in Rockland, where a driver refused to pull over after the latter activated the crui- ser’s emergency lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop at a gas station on County Road 17 following numerous traffic violations. The man who was driving the vehicle refused to identify himself to the officer and refused to conduct an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test. Cody Alexander Barton- Cooper, a 25-year-old man of Clarence- Rockland, was therefore charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand, obstructing
a peace officer, unnecessary noise, failing to stop for police, failing to surrender insurance card, failing to surrender permit for motor vehicle, failing to give identification, driving while under suspension, novice driver failing to provide breath sample and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available. He received a 90-day driver’s license sus- pension and his vehicle was also impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 15.
