infrastructures). She then joined the Active Noise and Vibration Control group at FIAT, where she was responsible for the design of the acoustic systems for active control in the cabin and in the exhaust of passenger vehicles. This led her to a position in the Consulting group of Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC, later acquired by MTS Systems Corp) in Detroit, MI, where she worked on the sound quality of various vehicles and automotive subsystems and where she developed sound quality target procedures. At Sound Answers, she has led the engineering team since 2005 through several consulting projects for industry customers and for DoD customers through SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) projects. Gabriella has authored over 40 papers for conferences and magazines, has chaired sessions at SAE, Inter-Noise and Noise-Con conferences and is a member of several professional organizations (SAE, AIAA, AES, IEEE). Gabriella has a Doctorate in Theoretical Physics from the University of Torino, Italy. Ashutosh Chandel Ashutosh Chandel currently heads up the NI/Test/HIL practice for LSS. As the practice manager, he is responsible for making sure projects are delivered on time and with expected quality. He is involved in multiple projects as a technical advisor as well as a developer from time to time. Ashutosh is also responsible for helping his team of 20 engineers to build their skills, career developments, resolving technical and interpersonal issues and, overall, making LHP a better place to work. Ashutosh enjoys the fact that though he is in a management position, he still receives opportunities to contribute in technical projects, helping him to be up-to-date with emerging tools and technology. Ashutosh has worked in various positions such as Project Manager, Technical Advisor, etc., at his previous organizations. He brings LHP 13 years’ experience in engineering and industrial services across multiple domains such as automotive, pharma, medical, industrial, manufacturing, and shop-floor automation, most of which are the top 100 of Fortune 500 companies. He is a proud member of SAE and a certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA), and helps other engineers with the certification process. Ashutosh is also a member of ISA (Instrumentation Society of America) and actively participates in the forums and discussions related to instrumentation and controls. In his spare time, Ashutosh enjoys playing cricket and volleyball. He is also a fan of soccer and likes to participate and volunteer in community events and non-profit charity organizations. Timothy Cheek Mr. Cheek is a Principal Engineer with DELTA [v] Forensic Engineering, Inc. Since 1993, Mr. Cheek has been active in the fields of forensic engineering and accident reconstruction. He has considerable experience in both the design and development of commercial trucks as well as with the investigation of accidents involving commercial vehicles. Mr. Cheek is a member of the SAE J2728 Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorder (HVEDR) subcommittee of the Truck & Bus Council and an organizer of the SAE Congress technical sessions on Event Data Recorder technology and has

member at the University of California - Davis and Sacramento State University. Farhad received GM’s President Honors award in 1998, and was inducted to Delphi’s Hall of Fame in 1999. He has numerous publications and patents related to control systems and automotive applications. Dr. Bolourchi has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D in Nonlinear Control Systems from the University of California - Davis. William Buller Mr. Buller is a principal investigator for multiple research programs at Michigan Tech Research Institute where he is currently developing animal collision avoidance algorithms for vehicles with existing radar and lidar, designing automotive test surrogates with RF signatures representative of real vehicles and collaborating with an international team to characterize surrogate vehicles for safety tests. He has significant experience in the areas of signal processing and radar technology and has worked in multiple industries including the U.S. Navy and Missile Defense Agency. He is the author of more than twenty peer reviewed research articles and U.S. patents and is an invited member of SAE’s Active Safety Test Target Validation and Correlation Task Force. He has a M.S. degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia and a B.A. degree in Physics from Albion College. Richard Byczek Rich Byczek is the Technical Lead for Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage at Intertek where he is responsible for the technical development of Intertek’s EV and Battery testing labs across North America, Europe and Asia. For the past 5 years, Mr. Byczek was the Operations Manager of the Livonia site, directly responsible for all battery performance, safety and transportation testing, as well as reliability and certification testing of Electric Vehicle charging stations and support electronics. Mr. Byczek has significant experience in product validation, EMC testing, and automotive product development. He sits on several performance and safety standards committees related to batteries and electric vehicle systems. Mr. Byczek has a B.S.in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. CALISO/SAE SAE and CALISO have joined forces to provide a series of on-demand courses based on international standards to engineers worldwide. The training uses excerpts of the exact text of standards/regulation, and will provide accurate training, free of distortions and misinterpretations. Gabriella Cerrato Gabriella Cerrato is President of Sound Answers Inc., an engineering consulting firm in noise and vibration. Since 1993 Gabriella has been acquiring experience in measuring, trouble- shooting and predicting noise and/or vibration in a variety of different systems and products. At the beginning of her career, she was involved with environmental noise impact measurement and prediction (from air and ground vehicular traffic and from
