Qualifications/Education/ Training • Degree or substantial equivalent work experience • Management/Project Management qualification Experience • Experience of working in the higher education sector • Experience of leading a student records and exams function • Demonstratable experience of advising senior staff on issues relating to student records, exams and/or assessment • Experience of policy development and implementation • Experience of successfully managing projects to completion • A successful track record of leading and managing staff • Experience of analysing and interpreting detailed management information • Significant experience of business process improvement and change management • Experience of budget and resource management • Substantial experience of using a student records system • Experience as a professional services manager at senior level • Experience of negotiation and external liaison at an institutional level. • Experience of evaluating University Regulations in determining the academic standing of students

Skills/Aptitudes/ Competences • Detailed understanding of the Office for Students regulatory framework for HE in England and requirements of other external bodies relevant to student records and exams (i.e., Student Loan Company) • Understanding of the changing HE data landscape, including metrics, data reporting and sector performance indicators • Ability to identify, promote, plan and implement lasting effective solutions to problems and challenges • Ability to write clear, accurate and relevant reports • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with academic, professional and senior managerial staff • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to successfully deliver system and process change • Excellent written and verbal communication • Excellent technical and IT skills • Strong commitment to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional working Other • Commitment to equality and diversity • Commitment to the development and provision of excellent customer service.
