Independent artist Right now, Branch’s throne is made up of stacks upon stacks of written material - an arsenal of lyrics and ideas she’s put together over the years, and is itching to unleash on the public’s ears. But with limited resources to distribute her music and get heard by the masses, she keeps writing in preparation for a break. “As long as I just have the material and I’m prepared for any window of opportunity that opens up for me, I know something will come through,” she says. Not content with waiting for the window to open, Branch takes to the streets on grassroots missions of self-promotion to spread her music to anyone willing to listen. It’s a true DIY routine for Branch and her friends and family, from producing to promoting, from recording to distribution. You might nd her on a given day passing out her demo, a CD-R with handwritten tracks reminiscent of an actual mixtape. Her ofcial mixtape, in the modern sense of the word, is set for release in late 2016. “I want to do whatever I need to do to push that tape because that’s going to determine the next step for me,” Branch says. With its release, she expects to establish a wider listener base outside of Madison, her hometown, and eventually hit the road touring to cities more welcoming to live hip-hop shows.

“ With a enough stage

I feel like I could really grab some attention. ” - Antanisha “Rose Mary” Branch, hip hop artist

No rest yet Branch has tapped into an inner creative force that she won’t let rest, consistently spitting out self-reective verses with witty punchlines delivered with as much force as the trunk-rattling bass on tracks like “L’s Remix” and “Oh My.” Through dedication, determination and passion for her craft, she has established a work ethic for herself that breathes condence into a thus-far underexposed career. But it’s like she says in “L’s Remix,” As long as y’all know I got what it takes to be the best / Man all they got to do is really put me to the test. Once the window of opportunity cracks opens, Rose Mary will be ready to deliver.
