won an actor’s award, and Jamie Yee was named Best Actor. Condell’s House deserved to win the Tothill Cup for 2019.

CORFE HOUSE October Offensive By Jacob Banks

Directed by Alex McKenzie-Rimmer Written by Old Boy Jacob Banks to remember the 3700 New Zealand casualties and the 842 New Zealanders who died at the Battle of Passchendaele in World War I. In terms of lives lost in a single day, that day – 12 October 1917 – was, most certainly, the most offensive day in New Zealand’s history. Christ’s College was terribly affected. Most of the cast played Old Boys and they are remembered here.

Alex McKenzie-Rimmer was keen to honour this play and our history and so gained permission to present the play again. Clear cooperation and a desire to tell a College story meant all cast members were committed to the presentation, especially after visiting the College Chapel to find the names of their characters commemorated on the Roll of Honour. Henry Mossman won an actor’s award, Dominic Edmond was runner-up Best Actor, Alex won an award for his direction, and the House won ensemble and production awards, as well as being placed second equal overall.
