CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY Board of Trustees July 30, 2021 ACTION – Naming of Athletics Hall of Fame
CWUP 2-10-080 sets forth the policy for the naming of all permanent physical facilities of CWU, for the purpose of benefactors, commemorating persons, for administrative description, and for temporary or working use. The procedure applies to interior spaces of structures as well as exterior spaces. The naming authority for major facilities in recognition of a benefactor and commemorative person lies with the Board of Trustees. Jeff Hensler and Weslie Moore gifted $50,000 to support student athletics and the Nicholson Pavilion renovation. This gift will name the renovation of the Hall of Fame area to recognize Dave Heaverlo’s contribution to CWU programs. Dave Heaverlo was a former Wildcat Athletic Association member, pro- baseball player, and a two-time CWU Athletic Hall of Fame recipient. The naming duration is in perpetuity.
We recommend the following motion: The Board of Trustees of Central Washington University hereby approves the naming of the future renovated Athletics Hall of Fame as the “CWU Athletics Hall of Fame in Honor of Dave Heaverlo.”
