CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY Board of Trustees July 30, 2021 ACTION – Naming of Athletics Main Atrium/Lobby
CWUP 2-10-080 sets forth the policy for the naming of all permanent physical facilities of CWU, for the purpose of benefactors, commemorating persons, for administrative description, and for temporary or working use. The procedure applies to interior spaces of structures as well as exterior spaces. The naming authority for major facilities in recognition of a benefactor and commemorative person lies with the Board of Trustees. Jean and Joe Adams gifted $250,000 to help renovate the Nicholson Pavilion in support of student athletes. Jean is a former Foundation Board member and Joe is a current member. Jean serves as Chair of the Wildcat Athletic Association, both received Distinguished Alumni Award for College of Business, and both received Distinguished Alumni Award for Philanthropist of the Year. The naming duration is in perpetuity.
We recommend the following motion: The Board of Trustees of Central Washington University hereby approves the naming of the future renovated athletics main atrium/lobby as the “Jean and Joe Adams Atrium.”
