وفي خضم هذه اللقاءات كثيرًا ما تتردّد كلمات الحكمة والنصيحة، تشــــــجّع على أعمال البر والإحســــــان، وتذكّر بمعاني التقوى والعطاء. ومن خلل هذا التلقي، تتشــــــكّل ثقافة جماعية تحض على مد يد العون لمن يحتاج. وهكذا، يبقى المجلس الرمضاني فصل عزيزًا في سجل الحياة، نستعيد فيه وجوه أحبّتنا وأحلمهم وذكرياتهم، والدروس التي أهدونا إيّاها بمودّةٍ، فيما تتردّد الدعوات بأن يعم الخير والبركة على الجميع. وعلى مر العصــــــــــور، نسجـــــت المجتمعــــــــــــات تقاليد ثقافية ارتبطت بشهر رمضان. واحتفاء بهذا الشــــــهر، يميل كثيرون إلى تأمّل الجمال في مختلف مظاهره. وقد جاء في حديث رواه قال: “لا يدخل الجنّة من كان في قلبه ﷺ عبد اللـه بن مسعود رضي اللـه عنه أن النبي محمد مثقال ذرّة من كِبْر”. فقال رجلٌ: إن الرجل يحب أن يكون ثوبه حســــــنًا ونعله حســــــنةً، فقال : “إن اللـه جميل يحب الجمال”. ﷺ رسول اللـه Islamic teachings praise the importance of practicing the highest standards of kindness in interactions with parents, spouses, children, elderly, family members, neighbours, friends, and the wider society. To illustrate, the Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] said: “The Compassionate One has mercy on those who are merciful. If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in the heaven will show mercy to you.
The Ramadan majlis feels like stumbling upon some- thing bewitching. The Ramadan majlis is not simply social; it is the cornerstone for fostering community co- hesion, a space transmitting values and teaching ways to elevate the spirit. Within its walls, faith and culture also meet. Islamic teachings praise the importance of practicing the highest standards of kindness in inter- actions with parents, spouses, children, elderly, family members, neighbours, friends, and the wider society. To illustrate, the Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] said: “The Compassionate One has mercy on those who are merciful. If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in the heaven will show mercy to you”. Ramadan is a beautiful time to be hospitable to guests of all generations, offering layered and fascinating tales across the ages. Social cohesion becomes natural, with invitations scurrying around and RSVP’s eagerly con- firmed. Conversations feel like ebbs and flows of oceans; a duo could be sharing updates on family news, anoth- er clique could be debating current events, while a third group could be heard rippling with giggles. Many times, words of wisdom are shared amongst guests to encourage pious acts and charitable endeavours. In doing so, the collective norm encourages quiet acts of assistance for those in need. Thus, the Ramadan majlis is a cherished chapter in our lives, wherein we remember fondly our loved ones, their dreams and memories, their life lessons offered so tenderly, and prayers for abundance and bless- ings to be bestowed upon all. Over the ages, communities have crafted and preserved gracious cultural traditions associated with Ramadan. To commemorate this month, many people embrace beauty in all its glory. In a hadith reported by Abdullah bin ‘[may Allah be pleased with him]: The Prophet Mu- hammad [peace be upon him] said, “He who has, in his heart, an atom’s weight of arrogance will not enter Paradise.” Someone said: “What if a man likes to wear beautiful clothes and shoes?”, to which the Messenger of Allah [peace be upon him] said, “Allah is Beautiful, He loves beauty”.

إذ تحرص شركات الإنتاج الكبرى على إعداد برامج ومسلسلت خُصِّصت لأجوائــــــه الجماعية الدافئة، حتى أصبح هذا التقليد ظاهرة ثقافية بحد ذاته. وتتنوّع هذه الأعمال بين دراما تتناول قضايا المجتمع وتعقيداته، وكوميديــــــا تمنح المشــــــاهدين لحظات من الضحــــــك بعد يوم طويل من الصيام، وملحم تاريخية تستعيد حكايات الأزمنة الماضية، من الأندلس إلى العصر العباســــــي وبدايات الحضارة الإســــــلمية. كما تحضر في هذا الموســــــم أعمال تســــــتلهم قيم الإيمان والرسائل الإنسانية، فتقدّم نماذج ملهمة من الإحســــــان والعطاء. وهكذا تتحوّل أمســــــيات رمضان داخل البيــــــوت إلى مهرجان صغير من التجــــــارب الثقافية والروحية، تتقاطع فيه الحكاية مع الذاكرة، والمتعة مع المعنى. أما المجلس الرمضاني فله ســــــحره الخــــــاص، كأن المرء يعثر فيه على لحظة آســــــرة تختصر دفء الشــــــهر ومعناه. فالمجلــــــس في رمضان لا يقتصر على كونه فســــــحة اجتماعية، بل يشــــــكّل ركنًا أصيل في توثيق عُرى المجتمع، ومســــــاحة لتناقل القيم واســــــتعادة المعاني التي تسمو بالروح. وفي رحابه يلتقي الإيمان بالثقافة. وقد أكّدت تعاليم الإســــــلم على التحلّي بأسمى درجات اللّطف والإحسان في التعامل مع الآخرين، مــــــن الوالدين والــــــزوج أو الزوجــــــة والأبناء وكبار الســــــنّ، إلى الأقارب والجيران والأصدقاء وســــــائر أفراد المجتمع. وفي هذا السياق، ورد عن قوله: “الرّاحمون يرحمهم الرحمن، ارحموا أهل الأرض ﷺ النبــــــي محمد يرحمكم من في السماء”. ويُعد رمضان فرصة جميلة لاســــــتقبال الضيــــــوف من مختلف الأجيال، حيث تُســــــرَد الحكايات وتتقاطع الذكريات. ففي هذه المجالس تتجلّى روح الألفــــــة بصورة تلقائية، فتتوالــــــى الدعوات وتُلبّى بترحيب صادق. وتتدفــــــق الأحاديث في المجلس كما تتدفّق أمــــــواج البحر: هنا يتبادل اثنــــــان أخبــــــار العائلة، وهناك تنشــــــغل مجموعة أخرى بنقاشــــــات حول قضايا الســــــاعة، بينما يتردّد في زاوية أخرى صدى الضحكات السعيدة.
Residential neighbourhoods mirror the city’s glow in quieter ways. Bal- conies are adorned with small lanterns. Doorways display subtle crescent decorations. Children help string fairy lights along garden fences, their excitement blending reverence with celebration. Ramadan lives most tenderly in family memory, where members act as custodians of faith, transmitting wisdom and spiritual teachings through rituals repeated year after year. As the call to prayer echoes across the watercolour-stroked skies, the hus- tle and bustle begins. Gratitude is felt at this moment. Some whispered supplications are availed with fervent belief. Hands reach for dates and glasses of water. Undoing pangs of hunger throughout the day is felt as fasters make their way through a repertoire of favourite and restorative delights. The iftar table captures the imagination of creative connoisseurs. Modern tablescapes are a canvas of celebration, displaying elegant serve ware, floral centrepieces, and textured napkins. A smattering of accesso- ries accentuates the table, with flickering candlelight, lanterns, jumbo rosaries, crescent or star-shaped dishes, and mini minarets. Ramadan is also a season of intentional storytelling, evident in the debut of many iconic TV shows. When all is said and eaten, families gather in the living room for a dose of delight around the television. Long-regarded as a popular season for Arabic shows, with major production houses hav- ing especially curated programmes during this month of communal at- mosphere, it has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon. Ranging from dramas tackling complex social realities of the times and comedies that invite giggles after a long day’s fast to historical sagas reviving the cherished stories from Andalusian, Abbasid, or early Islamic eras. Shows revolving around pious, inspiring, or charitable messages are also prev- alent. It is a wonderful fanfare of rich cultural and spiritual experiences, right in the household.
