Second phase of the Séraphin-Marion Park project will include landscaping of the park grounds, further work on the gazebo and other structures located on site, and also some improvements, a community ball field, and development of pétanque fields for residents who enjoy playing the French game of lawn bowling. The Phase Two plan for the park also in- cludes renovation work to make the park more accommodating for people with mo- bility issues. The Good Neighbours Food Bank group is asking for some financial help through this

EMBRUN | It was a short but interesting session for the new Russell Township council during the start of the 2015 muni- cipal budget review process. Mayor Pierre Leroux and councillors re- ceived briefs from three groups during the January 7 public submissions session. The briefs concerned requests for consideration as either part of the community funding or capital works portions of this year’s budget. The Marionville Citizens Committee is asking for the township’s help with the second phase of the Séraphin-Marion Park improvement project. Marionville is located at the juncture of Russell Township, North Dundas Township, and the City of Ottawa’s

Il a été fortement recommandé que le budget soit adopté tôt, c’est-à-dire dans le premier trimestre de l’année, pour permettre à la municipalité d’obtenir les meilleures conditions financières possibles en matière de gestion adéquate de la politique d’achat, soit une gestion en début d’année des appels de propositions et de soumissions dans le but d’obtenir le meilleur prix pos- sible. Le directeur général de la municipalité, Marc Chénier, a tenu à informer le conseil qu’il serait opportun de nommer un comité des finances constitué de deux membres du conseil et de la trésorière-adjointe afin de faire progresser les travaux budgétaires selon les délais impartis. All three briefs, along with any other sub- missions from the public received either prior to or following the January 7 meeting, will become part of the next budget dis- cussion and review session for council and municipal staff.
