T his was a fantastic achievement for Banbridge-based firm Alternative Heat, who has 16 years of experience in the off-site MEP Prefabrication Industry. The company’s impressive use of BIM and commitment to Quality Management ISO 9001 further proved it’s entitlement in winning this prestigious accolade. Judges commented on how the manufacturing capabilities are ideal to support the innovative product range and how the prefabrication aspect of the delivery was complemented by the product range. In a category that is hotly contested year on year, Alternative Heat set the benchmark high for all other entries. Speaking at the virtual awards ceremony, Fergal Hegarty, Business Development Manager said that the accolade was a real testament to their teams and facilities in which they’ve invested heavily in the last number of years. He added: “Even though the industry has slowed down to an extent, the off- site prefabrication services at Alternative Heat have allowed us to grow throughout Covid. We have just increased our fabrication facility by 60%, which will give us more space to grow. There are challenges ahead, but we have a healthy order book and we are forecasting continued, strong growth throughout Europe in the years to come.”

T his year’s award for the Medium Contractor of the Year went to a firmly established company with offices located in the north and south of Ireland. McGuinness Plumbing Ltd has been a leading plumbing and heating contractor since its inception. Over the years, the family business has earned a reputation for delivering the highest standard of work possible to a client base that includes many repeat customers. Our judging panel was won over by the firm’s superb website and immediate focus on its employees. Furthermore, they felt that the core values of the company were easily found, their provision of services were well identified, and they had an impressive project list. The company’s vision has always been to focus on delivering top quality workmanship, delivered by skilled, motivated, and ambitious staff to the highest standard on time and budget. This is evident in its workforce of 50 people and a core of tried-and-tested sub-contractors. The company has certainly built up a dedicated and loyal team throughout its years in business. Many congratulations to all the team and we wish them every success in the future.
