ALYSSA BRAZIER is a health promotion and wellness major and is minoring in coaching. She has endeavors of earning her graduate certificate in Health Coaching and to one day become a certified health coach. Alyssa is the publicity chair for UWSP’s National Wellness Institute-Student Chapter and was on the Dean’s List in 2019. Paul Staddler Honorary Scholarship Paul Staddler was a graduate of UWSP in 1982 with a degree in physical education and health education. Both Paul and his wife Doris, who is also a UWSP graduate, worked their way through college by way of loans, jobs, and occasional scholarship. This scholarship was a life goal of Paul’s was to assist future UWSP students with their college expenses. CPS Dean’s Award – Outstanding Junior in Health Promotion and Wellness This award is intended to recognize excellence in academic achievement and involvement for current seniors. Selection criteria include academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities above and beyond expectations of the major, and leadership potential. MADELEINE KINSCHER will be graduating may with a degree in health promotion and wellness and a minor in biology. She served as the co-conference coordinator for the National Wellness Institute-Student Chapter. Madeleine conducted research on the perception of body image among UWSP students and presented results to faculty that encouraged action with improving inclusivity. She also served for the American Public Health Association as their Affiliate Affairs and Public Health Week intern. Madeleine was also awarded the 2021 Chancellor’s Leadership Award. HEALTH PROMOTION AND WELLNESS
COLIN BARKER is a health promotion and wellness major who is graduating this May. He plans to continue his education in the M.S. in Athletic Training program at UWSP. Colin competed for Pointers wrestling team and is an officer for the National Wellness Institute-Student Chapter. Sherri Hall Outstanding Senior in Health Promotion Scholarship This scholarship was created to recognize excellence in academic achievement and involvement in an outstanding senior majoring in health promotion. JOY BECKER is majoring in health promotion and wellness and is committed to personal and professional growth. She is a leader among her peers and has lead mission trips and fundraisers for her church’s youth group. Joy is a prayer team leader to UWSP Cru student organization and works as a resident assistant for UWSP Residential Living. Health Promotion and Wellness Faculty Alumni Scholarship This scholarship was established through gifts from the former School of Health Promotion and Human Development faculty and alumni and is awarded to exceptional current sophomore, junior or senior. BRIANNA BRALICH is a health promotion and wellness major who is minoring in psychology. She plans to further her education after graduation and enter an accelerated nursing program so she can one day become an RN. Brianna is the co-president of the National Wellness Institute-Student Chapter and is a member of the Pointers cross country and track and field teams. She is a leader UWSP’s Summer Running Camp and achieved all-academic honors for having the highest GPA combined in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. When Brianna isn’t studying or running, you can find her volunteering as a Psychology peer mentor and delivering meals to students quarantined for COVID. Jane Jones Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to current sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in health promotion and wellness with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
