APPROACH: Last Sunday we talked about some of the rules which God gave to Moses for the Children of Israel. As these people wer'' traveling from Egypt to another lar -hr away, they needed a place ir v.vutch to worship God. They could net have a church such as ours, for they were moving much of the time. LESSON STORY: God told Moses that the Children of Israel were to make a tent church which could be carried with them wherever they went. Every person who wanted to help to build this church was to bring an offering which could be of gold, silver, brass, cloth, animal skins, wood, oil, spices, or precious stones. God did not want the people to feel that they must give; He wanted them to give because they loved Him, and because they were thankful for all that He had done for them. After Moses gave God’s message to the people, they went to their tents and brought w h a t e v e r of these materials t h e y had for the tent church. Some of the women made beautiful cloth, and some of the men were willing to help to make the tent. The people wanted a church so much that they were glad to help in any way they could. So many gifts were brought that Moses had to tell the people not to bring any more, for they could not be used. How pleased God must have been because His people gladly gave so many precious things for His work! Can boys and girls of today bring gifts to God for His work? Yes, there are many things that they can offer to Him. They can bring their Inoney to God’s house to help to pay for their church and to send missionaries to other lands with the Gospel story. They can give some of their time taking care of their Sunday school rooms, passing out song books, sing ing in the junior choir, playing the piano, or singing a solo. Can you think of any other way in which you may please the Lord Jesus by giving your money, or time, or talents to Him?
