Summer Reading Join us for exciting summer reading clubs and win awesome prizes. Both branches will offer a Summer Reading Club, a Teen Reading Club and an Adult Reading Club from June 1 through July 31. The theme for all three is “Build a Better World.” Participants in each club who log their reading will become eligible for prizes. A number of events will be offered at both locations. Complete details and list of events will be available at both branches.
Adult Programs Bookworms Book Club is a book discussion group for adults. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on each event date. May 6 - “Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper” by Phaedra Patrick June 11 - “Today Will Be Different” by Maria Semple July 3 - “Commonwealth” by Ann Patchett Aug. 7 - “Another Brooklyn” by Jacqueline Woodson Novel Discussions is a book discussion group for adults. All books are first novels. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. May 15 - “Everybody Rise” by Stephanie Clifford June 19 - “The Assistants” by Camille Perri July 17 - “I Let You Go” by Clare Mackintosh Aug. 21 - “The Mothers” by Brit Bennett Writers’ Group offers writing exercises and critiques for adults. The group meets on May 12, June 9, July 14, and Aug. 11. All meetings are at 6:30 p.m. Teen Programs Teen Book Club is a book discussion for teens ages 12 - 18. This group meets on May 8, June 12, July 10, and Aug. 14. Meetings begin at 12 p.m. Please bring your own lunch. Please contact the branch for the titles to be discussed.
Children and Family Programs The Children’s Book Club is a book discussion group for children ages 9 - 12. It will meet on May 22, June 26, July 24, and Aug. 28. All meetings are at 12 p.m. Please bring your own lunch. Contact the branch for the titles to be discussed. Bring your baby and join us for Baby Bounce ! We will sing songs, read stories, shake rattles and even have playtime after. This program is for infants ages 0 - 18 months and their caregivers. We meet every Mon. at 10:30 a.m. and every Wed. at 3:30 p.m. Join us for Toddler Story time while we read stories, sing songs, and play with toys after. This event is for toddlers ages 18 - 36 months and their caregivers. We meet every Tues. at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Join us for Preschool Story time ! Your child will have a blast while we read stories, sing songs, jump, count and work on crafts after. This program is for children ages 3 - 6. We meet every Thur. at 10:30 a.m. in May and at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in June, July and Aug. Family Craft is for all ages, and it is offered the first Wed. of each month at 6:30 p.m. Each month’s crafting projects will share a common theme. Participants are welcome to make more than one craft during each session and are encouraged to bring family and friends. Maker Mondays are on the first Mon. of each month at 4 p.m. Make a different STEM project every month.
