Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Line Management Responsibilities Line manage staff, setting standards and objectives and carry out annual performance reviews with follow up reviews during the year. Address performance management issues as necessary.

• Oversee holiday and sickness record keeping in conjunction with the Estates Officer.

Recruit and train staff as required.

Caretaking

• Ensure that the caretaking suits the needs of the School at all times.

Cleaning

3.

• Ensure that the cleaning operation provides a high standard service to cover all areas (internal and external) of the School including the Sports Field and communal areas of residential accommodation.

Manage recycling and waste disposal.

Estates Maintenance

4.

Manage work requests.

Respond to emergencies, including out of hours, as required.

Contractors

5.

• Ensure that all contracted works with a value greater than £5,000 are subject to tender action such that the final decision is supported by a minimum of 3 written quotations.

Produce specifications and tendering documents as required.

Ensure contractor competency prior to placing orders.

• Ensure contractors carry out the works as required in a safe manner.

Budgets and Invoices

Formulate and work to budgets and authorise invoices as required.
