Maheu fête ses 120 ans
Une célébration a été organisée, le mercredi 20 avril dernier, afin de souligner l’anniversaire du magasin Maheu BrandSource Home Furnishings, magasin emblématique à Embrun, qui souffle ses 120 bougies cette année. Une centaine de personnes de la com- munauté et d’ailleurs se sont déplacées afin d’assister à cet évènement historique. Quelques dignitaires en ont profité pour dire

C’est en 1896 que le fondateur, Omer Maheu, a ouvert son magasin général. À
cette époque, la communauté connaissait un essor économique avec le développement des chemins de fer et le nombre croissant d’agriculteurs dans la région, qui venaient s’approvisionner à son magasin. En 1919, Omer Maheu déménage le com- merce au 1027, rue Notre-Dame, où il se trouve encore aujourd’hui.

Canadian police forces may have different names for their tactical units. The charges against the trio concern 28 “swatting calls” to police from the beginning of October 2015 up and including the end of March to mid-April 2016. Most of the calls
