Safer parking patrol! PCSO on the go

PARKING PROBLEMS During the Spring Term, our Abbey Junior PCSOs have completed their Safer Parking Patrols, with the aim of reminding the families who park near our school to do so considerately and safely. The patrols have been a success and we are reaching many families and asking them to change their parking habits. We discourage families from parking on any of the double yellow lines, zig-zag lines and single lines with the 8am-4pm restrictions because this creates problems with visibility when many children are crossing the busy junction by our school. We also ask that parents do not enter Maurice Road during school hours as there is no parking between 8am - 4pm. We also want to discourage the parents who park in the middle of the road and drop off their children, causing disruption to traffic on Barclay Road or Abbey Road and putting their child at risk when leaving the vehicle. Our Junior PCSOs are looking forward to more parking patrols in the Summer Term and thank all of the families who are working to support our efforts.

Thanks to Mrs. Flanagan for the story.
