A blast from the past! Stone Age

OUTBACK 2 BASICS Year 3 had a memorable Stone Age experience to Outback 2 Basics. The children were given the opportunity to bring The Stone Age “alive” with an interactive hands- on history lesson. It was truly a unique and exciting way to build on what they had already learnt in class. The children were able to get up close and personal with furs and skins, flint and tools, bone fish hooks and fishing spears, bows and arrows-holding the tools that our ancestors used to shape our future. “I loved the trip because we made bread, a shelter and we looked at animal fur – it was fun!” Lydia 3V “I enjoyed the whole day especially touching the animal skin.” Simrah 3V “I now know more about The Stone Age people than I did before.” Patience 3V “I enjoyed the trip because we made a den out of wood, twigs and leaves.” Kurts 3K “I got to make and eat the bread I made.” Kian 3K

“I liked making the den but I didn’t like the toilets!” Ayman 3B

“I liked everything!” Ano 3B

“I liked building the dens.” Carter 3B Thanks to Mrs. Vickers for the story.
