THE

Animal Magic! Visitor

RANGER Children in Year 1 were excited to discover some unusual visitors to our school. The ‘Animal Man’ brought a wide selection of animals to educate and delight the children. From a tiny, energetic gecko to an enormous python, children were invited to hold, touch and stroke each animal. Our ranger engaged the children’s interest with expert facts, in a lively, humorous style – he was nearly as funny as the kookaburra, which the children thought was ‘hilarious’! The swooping owl put on a spectacular show but the skunk calmed things down just in case we made him nervous (we all know what that would mean!) What a fantastic experience this was to enhance our Animal Kingdom topic, literally using a hands-on approach to learning. You might like to check out videos of the ‘hilarious’ kookaburra and the spectacular owl flight, on the Year 1 page of the website. Thanks to Mrs. Donnelly for the story. TESTS AND TASKS A big ‘well done’ to all of our children who have been undertaking end of academic year tests and tasks. Everyone worked hard and it was just a normal day at the office - good work Abbey kids.
