Erasmus+ KA2: Beyond Student Mobility

Erasmus+ is often associated with student mobility and study periods abroad. However, the programme also promotes structured cooperation between organizations and institutions to generate long-term impact in education, training, and youth sectors. Within this framework, Key Action 1 (KA1) supports individual mobility for students and academic or administrative staff, while Key Action 2 (KA2) focuses on strategic partnerships aimed at fostering innovation and the exchange of good practices. Within Erasmus+, KA2 actions play a strategic role in fostering collaboration and innovation across education systems. Despite being less well known to the general public, they include Cooperation Partnerships and Capacity Building projects, which fund transnational collaborations in which organizations from different countries work together to address shared challenges. These initiatives develop innovative solutions that contribute to the modernization of education systems. Their outputs may include operational models, guidelines, digital tools, learning pathways, apps, online courses, and research studies. Beneficiaries range from universities and schools to NGOs, companies, public authorities, and youth organizations.
