We want all patients to know their rights and responsibilities. As a BBAHC patient, you have the right to: • Be treated with courtesy and dignity • Respect for your personal preference and values • Control your own health care decisions • Communication you can understand • Visitors of your choice while in the hospital • Protection of your privacy • Price transparency
The Patient Care Partnership
We consider you a partner in your health care and encourage a partnership between you and your care team. Please treat everyone with dignity and respect. Physical and verbal threats and acts of violence will not be tolerated. Together we create a positive place for healing.
As a patient care partner, you have a responsibility to:
• Be involved in your care to make informed decisions • Provide complete information about your health and insurance coverage • Understand who should make decisions when you cannot • Share health goals and values or spiritual beliefs important to your well-being

REFERRALS BBAHC can refer patients to health
care providers statewide. If you need an additional service not available at BBAHC, we will refer you to another provider. Your care team processes these referrals and will help coordinate your care. They will call you about referrals.
Where will I be referred to for care?
You have options for your care referrals. • IHS beneficiaries are typically referred to the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage. If ANMC cannot provide care, staff there will initiate an outside referral. • Non-beneficiary patients are referred to providers within their health plan network.
