My favorite part of working in real estate is the relationships formed with clients. I’m in this for the long term. People should use me for my brutal honesty, trust, knowledge, and integrity. Selling real estate is a joy to me; it’s never been a “job.” I consider myself a “concierge broker.” I take care of everything I possibly can for my clients before, and long after the sale. I don’t disappear after the closing. I was once a new resident on the plateau and I had to seek out all of the information that I provide to my clients to help make their transition go smoothly.
instead began her career in Public Relations with The North Broward Hospital District.
She migrated from PR to Marketing for a large restaurant and hotel group in Ft. Lauderdale. It was a career with Biltmore Estate that brought her to North Carolina and then to Cashiers in 2010 where she worked as the National Sales Manager. Ten years later Donna decided to trade in her sales hat with Biltmore and concentrate on her family while staying involved with her love of marketing through her own independent web design and social media advertising business.
KATY POSTELL After growing up in Andrews NC, the mountains have always held a special place in Katy’s heart. Her love of the outdoors led Katy to become a whitewater rafting guide on both the Nantahala and Pigeon rivers. She loved the adventure and meeting new people from all over the country who came to the mountains to enjoy the cooler temperatures and natural beauty of the area.
In 2019 Donna became the Digital Marketing Manager for BHHSMMR which led to her love of real estate and desire to get her broker’s license.
Donna has two children, both previously attended Summit Charter School and are now at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in Dillard, Georgia. Having the time to spend with her family has been a blessing and the years she has spent on the Plateau getting to know the area and the community has made the migration to real estate seamless and so exciting!

She obtained her license as a Physical Therapy Assistant and worked at facilities in northeast Georgia as well as at the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. In 2008, Katy met her husband, Bryan Dearth while watching a UNC vs. Duke basketball game. Although her first love had always been Duke basketball, Bryan quickly took over that position and they married in 2011. Bryan is the son of Allan Dearth; together with his father and his brother, Bryan owns and operates Allan Dearth and Sons Generator Sales & Service. Katy and Bryan live in Highlands and have two children, JJ and Corena.
SHERMAN POPE Many years ago I came to visit a cousin in
Cashiers and fell in love with the Plateau. Beauty, temperatures (being from Florida), people, and life “the way it used to be!” I’m licensed to sell real estate in four states (NC, SC, GA, FL). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and customers. Dining out, participating in local events, and helping others when possible. BROKER
