thirst of our hearts. We are truly grateful for thè privilege of worship ing the Lord Jesus Christ. By His grace, I will witness for Him today that some longing one may come to know and worship Him as Saviour, and have his spiritual thirst quenched by the “living water.” June 12 "Jesus findeth him in the temple” (John 5:14). The time of the Lord’s return is steadily drawing near. When He comes, may He find me “in the tem ple,” i.e., in the place of obedience— the place where He would want to find me—not in any place where I would need to be ashamed to face Him. If I am careful to make this the rule of my-life, I can say with out reservation : 1“Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.” June 13 “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6 : 68 ). “ I felt like one upon his journey brought By ways he knows not of; these pathways dim Had ever seemed their promised end to cheat, Yet had they led to Him In whom life’s tangled, broken threads complete Are gathered up, its wasted things made meet For holier use, its r o u g h n e s s smoothed, its bitter turned to sweet." —Dora Greenwell. June 14 “ I know him” (John 7:29). Let us pause a moment in worship before our God who, by His revela tion, makes it possible for us also to say, “I know Him,” not “I’ve heard of Him,” not even “I have heard Him,” but “I know Him.” Yes, I know whom I have believed. I know He has re ceived me as His own, I know He deigns to walk with me wherever I go. I know Him, and I praise Him for His love, His joy, and His peace, all of which He has made to be mine. June 15 “He that is of God heareth God’s words” (John 8:47). Lord, as we wait before Thee in quietness, how sweet is the voice of the Spirit as He witnesses that we are children of God. He is saying: “Commit thy way unto Me and today as thou goest about life’s duties, thou shalt hear a voice saying, ‘This is the way, walk ye in it.’ Be comforted, for My grace is sufficient for thee.” Our gracious God, Thy words are precious and we give thanks to Thee for hav ing put a song in our hearts and praise upon our lip&

June 16 "He shall speak for himself” (John 9:21). There is the story of a man who longed to be considered convincing. But when any one asked what he thought on a subject, he would say to his wife, “You know what I think. You tell them, my dear.” May I be able to speak for myself in convinc ing, winsome words -a testimony to the grace of my loving God. May I be able to help some one to see His tender loving-kindness, also His right eous justice. Our God is just; He is also the Justifier of them that believe. I am justified by faith, and that by His gift, I can speak from experience, not hearsay. AVAVAVAVAVAVAVA'/AVAVAVAVAVAVAVAV i

June 18 “Said Martha unto Jesus,. . . I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee” (John 11:21,22). The clouds of perplexity are heavy about me. Uncertainty dogs my path. There is no voice of love directing my way. The Lord seems to have hidden His face. How good to know Martha’s faith! I, too, can look up and smile through tears for I, too, know that God works all things together for the good of those whom He has called accord ing to His purpose. Even now, He is “ able to subdue all things unto Him self,” and to bring out of every circum stance a blessing for His child. June 19 “He that seeth me seeth him that sent me” (John 12:45). What do the disciples of Jesus say? Because He saved me, I am a disciple of Christ. I am, therefore, sent be cause He said, “As my Father hath sent me, even so I send you.” Mar- welous privilege, blessed mission! To show to the spiritually blind the Light of life, unto.Thee, Lord, do I dedicate anew all of my being: body, mind, af fections, words, actions, to be the per sonification of the beauty of Jesus that those who see me may see Him who sends me to them. June 20 “I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you” (John 13:15). Gustave Dor6 watched eagerly the expression of a visitor as she looked at a picture of Jesus Christ which he was painting. “ Do you like it?” he asked. “Yes, I do,” the visitor replied. “I think that you couldn’t paint such a picture of Jesus Christ unless you loved Him.” “Indeed, Madame,” answered Dor4, "I do, but as I love Him more, I shall paint Him better.” The artist knew the secret of serv ice: the more we love the Lord Jesus, the better our ministry will be. June 21 “ If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14). Here is a promise. We shall re ceive that for which we ask if We pray in His name, by the authoriza tion of His name. Our right to ex pect an answer from God depends upon the authorizing of our request. The Lord Jesus Christ is our only au thority as we present our requests before God. We are in Him because we have received Him as our Saviour; therefore, we may commit our way unto Him in quiet assurance because we ask for guidance, strength, and keeping, in His name.

lone Lowman He leadeth me where waters deep about my head are threat’ning, His hands beneath me hold me up, His voice my ears are hear ing; Ho waters, nay, no storm can rise Above Himself, o’erwhelm- ing. Be still, my heart, and let Him Hold thee safe— the storm outriding. He knows the way and in His time He’ll speak, the winds be calming. And you, contented then, and glad Within, your voice proclaim ing, Will testify unto His power and know His grace sus taining.

June 17 “Other sheep I have . . . them also I must bring” (John 10:16). It may be that today one of His "other sheep” will cross my path. Will I offer right leading, words of encour agement, , gestures of friendliness, smiles refreshing? Or will I fail thé ones whom I shall meet? Lord, make me ready now, cleansed from stain of sin, prepared of heart and mind, filled with Thy gracious Spirit, so that }t may be my privilege to lead “other sheep” into Thy fold.
