La distribution d’arbres sera effectuée selon le principe de premier arrivé, premier servi. – Annie Lafortune LOCK YOUR DOORS, SAY OPP The Russell detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging local residents to lock up their vehicles. The Russell County OPP Auxiliary unit will undertake the Lock It or Lose It initiative, a crime prevention program to help prevent thefts from motor vehicles. Auxiliary members will inspect vehicles in driveways and commercial parking lots, handing out information leaflets to residents on how to protect their vehicles. The OPP suggests that If residents see individuals acting suspi- ciously, they should contact the Russell County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. 10 TH RUSSELL RUN QUICKLY APPROACHING The 10 th Annual Russell Run will take place on May 11, at the Russell Com- munity Sports Club. The event will feature a 1.2 km Kids Fun Run at 9 am and 5 km Fun Run and Road Race at 9:30 am. MPP for Orléans Marie-France Lalonde presented the Sunshine Protection Act in Queen’s Park last week, calling for the end of Daylight Saving in Ontario by 2020. This would put an end to twice yearly time changes, pushing sunshine later in the day in Ontario. This would mean that the province would move clocks forward as expected in March 2020 and then skip the fall back time change in November, permanently leaving Ontario on daylight time. —archives
